Here's one that's sure to set "teh internets" on fire. A group of students from Saitama University in Japan showed up to the Tokyo Auto Salon with a 2JZ-GE powered MkIV Toyota Supra dressed up like Nick Cage's Eleanor from the very bad to watch Gone in 60 Seconds remake. Not familiar with Eleanor? Aside from being far and away the best part of the film, Eleanor is a 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 that's been gone over with an epic-tooth comb.

But let's not get to far afield. This car is not a Ford, nor is it a Mustang. It's a Toyota with a mighty straight-six (no word if the 2JZ-GE is in fact the brawny turbo-fied version, the 2JZ-GTE) cut to look like a classic Shelby 'Stang. Before you unload to harshly in the comments, just remember students built the dang thing, students... Also, are we nuts or is anyone else seeing a whole lot of Mustang II in this particular angle?

Is the guy writing this articla an idiot? Does he even know what a Mustang II looks like? He sure doesn't know what a '66 Shelby looks like.

I hope you guys are joking about the writing. If you were smart enough to understand tongue-in-cheek humor, I promise it would be a much more gratifying read. It takes a fantastic wit to know the laws of grammar, show it where it counts, and dance around with the rest - knowing, full well, that some ass hat on "teh" internet will ridicule you with his 8th grade English class understanding of it all.

To compare this to something else. I like chocolate, I like steak. I'd hate to eat a chocolate covered steak.

Very well done. (The comment; not the steak)

        Mmmmm.....chocolate steak....

what creativity - the idea is from Fast adn Furious Tokyo Drif

they get an F for copying the idea, F for excecution, and F for messing up a Supra so badly

What’s with the fuel filler cap sitting on the trunk lid and fuel filler door on the side of the car?

Here’s a pic of the real thing to show you how just weird this looks:

If you knew anything about cars, you'd know how stupid your statement is.

How's a turbo inline six powered sports car with an actual suspension less of a car than a Mustang?

its totally Japanese. looks just like heavily modded JDM. I don't see no american anywhere. it may not be prettiest but good clean work.

so why bunch of you non-Japanese readers so upset about old Japanese car being modded around to look totally different? If I were devoted American muscle fan, would I be offended by such things as derby cars? Damn. Americans do more f-ed up things to domestic cars than anyone else in the world. Least this Supra is done n complete. its a good workmanship. Besides there are plenty of un-driven Supras 'n others like in Japan because of heavy tax and regulation on older cars. Its just that you guys can't get 'em so easy or worth exporting.

      WHAT THE F@#$?!
So let me get this straight. They took one of the best Japanese sports cars of all time. And then gave it one of the most American, legendary, and iconic bodies of all time. Did someone at one point not step back and say, "Wow. This is a REALLY BAD idea!"

I find it kind of hilarious how perplexed some of you are, all that can really be said is it's the japanese! They don't need things like reason or sense, they're bats##t crazy! Sometimes it's awesome and sometimes...well here you are.
