Tommy Kaira Silver Wolf Nissan GT-R – Click above for high-res image gallery

Japanese tuning enthusiasts (and racing sim fanatics everywhere) have come to know Tommy Kaira as one of the best in the business. The Japanese outfit works its magic on Skylines, Imprezas and more, and has now released a tuning package for the current Nissan GT-R.

Called the Silver Wolf, this GT-R sees its engine left intact, but gets treated to a full body kit, plus new rolling stock, brakes, exhaust and suspension components. The carbon fiber widebody package gives Godzilla a serious attitude adjustment, while the functional components – if Tommy Kaira's previous offerings are anything to go by – promise to squeeze that extra bit of performance out of this Japanese icon. This looks worlds better than the Tommy Kaira-tuned Nissan March that my co-worker drives. (And rightfully so!)

That body kit integrates with the factory body about as well as the stuck on bits on the now defunct Mustang on Knight Rider. And why are the vast majority of these cars painted some shade of metallic gray?

      Do not be fooled.

This Tommy Kaira has nothing to do with the man and company that designed cars in previous years. It is now but a brand that is owned by an industrialist.

So for Autoblog to call whoever made this a "Japanse Icon" is truly uninformed.

Mine's is a very different philosophy. They're very minimalist in terms of modifications, trying to keep it as stock as possible in terms of look and execution (and quality), whereas Tommy Kaira GT-Rs are almost complete cars.

I don't like the R35 front, and Tommy Kaira's makes it slightly better... maybe. I've always liked Tommy Kaira body kit designs though--especially the R34. I think what messes this up is the unpainted side skirts and rear widebody fenders. Don't need to show off the CF, just paint it.

Thanks for clarifying... I was thinking this was nothing like the Kaira R33 that I lusted after.

It's a shade too busy in the lines for my taste, I think if it was all body colored it would stifle the harshness of it. It's not too too bad but not really my thing.

A special edition thats more then just a different paint job! ...i'd take it

looks pretty good outside -- inside? looks like the set of a 70's porno if they knew about CF back then.

The Mazda RX8 called - they want their back seats returned before the end of the week. Proof: http://www.familycar.com/roadtests/mazdarx8/Images2006/RearSeat.jpg

      DO WANT.

Love the body kit. And that black & red interior is hot.
I agree that the front fixes all (almost) of the design quibbles I have with the GT-R.

The interior is ghastly. The wing is a little...meh.

        The front is nice.

        The side, not so much.
I'd like to see the wing a bit lower, at least from a visual standpoint. And the two tone around the rear wheel is not exactly great, to me. But overall, I like it!
Like the wheels... that's about it.
      Looks good on ya...

I've always loved the new GT-R look and this one made me weep with indescribable joy and jealousy. DO WANT OMG.

      Tommy Kai-rice

A best way to ruin a perfectly beautiful car.
I think the original GT-R is beatifull too, but I respect these japanese tuners. They take thigs realy serious. And for me, except for the interior (wrong color) and for the rear wheel arches (lacks color), it´s pretty good.

P.S. After reading what Nicolas posted, I expect to see the "real" Tommy Kaira to show up. But looking at the bright side... At least they didn´t screw up anything.

GT-R is one beautiful car but I absolutely love what Tommy Kaira did with the body.
Never thought I would hear someone say the GT-R is "perfectly beautiful" lol.

I don't like the back wheel arches, but the new front clip is far better than stock. Which isn't hard to do considering how ugly the front is from the factory.

Engine left intact? Come on, that body kit deserves some engine mods.
