Revenge Verde Supercar – Click above for high-res image gallery

U.S.-based Revenge used the 2010 Detroit Auto Show to introduce the world to its Verde Supercar, and we were there with cameras in hand to capture the event on film memory cards. Honestly, we were impressed with the Verde's outer appearance, though we couldn't get close enough to see the interior or the car's underpinnings.

Speaking of which, Revenge claims that the Verde shares a good portion of its aluminum chassis with the dearly departed Ford GT. Powertrain options are, shall we say... interesting. We're certainly not complaining about the Roush-sourced Ford Racing V8 with 605 horsepower or the supercharged GM LS9 with 638 horses. It's the Hp2g Hybrid drivetrain option that we're a wee bit leery of... not that we wouldn't love to believe that the V8 engine puts out 400 horsepower while running on E85 and returning upwards of 100 miles per gallon, it's just that we need to see it for ourselves before we believe it.

Moving on, the bodywork is fashioned from aluminum and carbon fiber, which allows for a weight of 3,500 pounds. Performance estimates put the 0 to 60 time at between three and five seconds, depending on the powertrain chosen. Top speed will reportedly be over 200 miles per hour, with optional gearing that could potentially allow the Verde to hit 240 mph. Pricing is set at $190,000 and Revenge says it's planning to put cars in paying customer's hands later this year. We'll see.

      ...WOW
100mpg? This is how they did it:

100mpg is for gasoline...............that means if I drive 75miles on 100% Ethanol, and the remaining 25 miles on gasoline, I get 100mpg gasoline!

Maybe Ethanol an gasoline are stored in 2 different tanks.

        montoym

Right that's what I meant to say ;)
You don't need 2 tanks, just the ability to run on E85. Using E85, you are only burning 15% of the gasoline that you would otherwise and that allows for spectacularly high mpg figures.

For instance, 16mpg magically becomes 107mpg when you do the math and only count the gasoline that was burned and not the Ethanol.

Run your flex fuel vehicle on E85 and run around claiming 100+mpg, you wouldn't be any less accurate than this claim. I'm sure your pocketbook won't think it's 100+mpg though.

All of my giddiness from seeing the Viper for the first time in 1992 just came back.

Wow, this car is Awesome and has everything I love about a super car.

It's also called a Revenge... can't get more badass then that.

The only worse than revenge is alimony, or so I've been told.

the front end could use a bit more love

everything else is Lamborgini Miura hot
The back is a hot mess.
Yeah, a little more love is a good way to put it, the rear could use some too IMO. The overall form and the lines are really wonderful, drool-inducing in profile. I feel like with about 10% more attention to detail this could be a world-class stunning design... Just a touch more tweaking to the lights, vents, etc.

I really want to believe in the 400hp/100mpg claim. I really, really do.

The hybrid engine is vaporware, if not the entire car.

        That's allright...

I just want those wheels. :D

I hope it has suspension that can raise the nose because that thing is low! I’m kind of getting tired of the one off “supercars” that will never be as good as big name brands, yet cost astronomical amounts. The reason everyone loves the GT-R is because it’s an “almost” affordable supercar that can compete with the 200k cars…. IDK every time I see Joe Blows supercar 1000 hp “GM sourced motor” (or whatever) buy one today for only 200k – I just don’t care…

what is up with that stupid name? "Revenge"?
      mean spirited..........
      how about: "Forgive"
Cars aren't about forgiving, especially cars that pack a Roush V8 or a LS9.
