2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG in GT5 – Click above for high-res image gallery

First it was rumored and now it's official. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG has snagged the cover of Gran Turismo 5.

Just a few weeks after the official demo hit the Playstation Network in both Europe and the U.S., Polyphony Digital has released a slew of new screen shots of the SLS tearing up the virtual track, along with the cover shot you see above and the high-def video after the jump. There's still no word on an official release date for the full game, but the most recent rumors say GT5 should be hitting the streets in March. Here's hoping...

I couldn't care less how the cover looks like, I just want the damn game now.

will you be able to mod/updrae the cars?
The one good thing about the wait is that you can build a pretty impressive garage on the PSP and be able to access them on GT5 the day it comes out.

It's been a while, but excellence shouldn't be rushed.

I hate the cover. It should make you want to stare at it but this is just boring. Not to mention the car is one of the ugliest ever made.

        I agree.

For a game so great, one of the best ever they could have at least gave it a reflective, shiny or 3D look...something ! Or at least a better car pic...

PS3 Demo that just came out is a huge let down. I play NFS Shift and it is definitely better than GT5. Keep in mind I also have GT5 prologue. It is also very boring and forces you to chore yourself through way to many slow car buys before you get to a car thats finally fun to drive. I didn't make it to anything fun. It just wasn't fun earning $$ for the ability to buy a Ford Focus.

GT5 may still be on my shopping list, but I wont buy it as fast as I bought NFS Shift. I love NFS Shift!

I think people who believe in March release of GT5 in US are the same people who still believe in Ester Bunny . . . . and Tooth Fairies.
