Rapier-witted analyst Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics joins Chris, Sam, and Dan for Episode #160 of the Autoblog Podcast. Announcements and news have heated up after taking a holiday break, and we jump right in. First up, it's the speculation that four million fewer car sales might signal the end of days for the automobile. Once that's thoroughly mulled over, we move on to the Mercedes S400 Hybrid before talking about new engines that would bolster Porsche's efficiency, and discuss a turbocharged four-cylinder Mercedes C-Class coupe. Ford's VEBA payment is next before we touch on what's coming in Detroit. We wrap it all up by listing our #1 vehicle of the decade in a variety of categories. We hope you have as much fun listening as we did recording. See you next week!

Until next time, quality podcasting exists at Joystiq and Engadget. Thanks for that EchoAlpha. We've actually tried in vein to get on the Zune Marketplace... we need all the downloads we can get.

Also... Jim Hall did indeed rock the podcast house. When the show ended we all agreed he made the show one of the best ever. He's goofier than I am, smarter than Sam and agrees with Dan a lot. It's like he's a Borg.

I definitely felt like it was one of the best, if not THE best podcast we've ever done. It was tight, clipped along, we all had a great time (though Jim may disagree).

I can't help it if he agreed with me all the time, it's a burden being right.

Outstanding Podcast! I really enjoyed it.

Dan Roth: You are fantastic, but I tire of you chewing ice in my iPhone's earbuds while I workout! ;-)

I would love to see Evo's Chris Harris as a guest. He does the best videos, starting at Autocar, than the now defunct Driver's Republic, and firmly planted at EVO. Please, please, please get him on.

You guys are doing great with your guests, and Plunkett is terrific too btw.
