Kia Ignition Soul donuts commercial -- Click above to watch video

The Kia Ignition Soul is out to reset every perception of what a Korean car can be and who it can be for. That's why you get commercials like this one, for Jeff Wyler Kia in Ohio. We won't spoil the surprise, but having spent a few years around Eastgate, Ohio (shoutout to Williamsburg!) we can say that if the Ignition Soul gets Jeff Wyler to make commercials like this, then it is indeed a car to change the game – and no, there isn't a hamster behind the wheel.

Follow the jump
for the vid, which has more than a little bit in common with R Kelly's Ignition Remix: "It's the remix to ignition, hot and fresh out the kitchen, mama rollin' that body..." Hat tip to Mike!

I live in Cincinnati. I lol'd the instant I read "Jeff Wyler." It looks like someone at Jeff Wyler pitched the "Grandparents Ghost Riding the Scion xB" video to marketing.

Good commercial. They should have given Grandma some better sunglasses.

"Hamster behind the wheel"? Richard Hammond could easily be driving one of these.

In the words of Kevin Mcallister......Woof.

I like how the video is cut so it looks like the car is just roasting tires in circles....when really that's all using just the handbrake and the Soul couldn't actually continually spin in circles due to the FWD.

Geez... I'm glad you explained that. They had me going there for a minute. I thought this was a full-on RWD converted Kia Soul. Thanks for clearing up that confusion!!!11!!one!!

Interesting commercial for an ugly car. I'll nevever understand the appeal of the Soul, Scion xB / xA, Cube, etc... Very awkward stubby looking things. They remind me of the littletykes infant cars, but for adults :D

Except for the tons of usable space inside.
you are being downranked not because you think it's ugly, but because you don't understand that other people don't find it ugly. different people are allowed to have different opinions.

Keep wondering, why most of car commercials must have a mistake in directing, listen to the hand brake sound at the end of the clip, although it supposed to be all the way up!!!!!
anyways, i do love this car and i was dreaming to be the designer of this wonderful car

can't watch the video as I'm at work, but that capture almost makes it seem as if the Soul is spinning its rear tires. am I missing something? RWD Soul?
No spinning, it's a handbrake turn. Big deal. Stupid video.

That's funny...they're able to be self-referential with the perception of their cars (grannys buy kia kinda thing), with a twist. Someone knows how to make a memorable ad, kudos.

i give them an A for effort in making the video...
only worry for the poor young sap that buys this Soul -- hope he realizes the "Dealer brake and tire inspection" process it went through

w00t I live near Eastgate and drive by this dealership all the time, I was kind of taken back when I read that the local dealership was on Autoblog. Kia really has stepped up its game in recent years. Good for them.

While we're on the subject of cars & grannies, there's a little ol' lady in our town driving a Chrysler 300 with a license plate surround that says: "Grandma's Got A Hemi"
