VIDEO: The Mustang skates in latest episode of Unleashed
Though we all owned skateboards in our younger years, we can admit that we were never really any good at riding them. That doesn't mean we didn't fantasize about all the great stunts we wished we could perform. And were there any among us who don't remember sitting in the back seat of a car watching the scenery go by at speed and thinking of all the sweet jumps and flips cars should be able to do?
Filmmaker Jeff Richter undoubtedly has such memories, and Ford was kind enough to let him unleash those inner fantasies with a brand-spanking-new 2010 Mustang. Also along for the ride are street skater Pat Duffy and X-Games gold medalist Jake Brown. A quick blip pops up at the start of the film letting the watcher know that some of the scenes are real and others are computer generated... we don't think you'll have too much trouble distinguishing one from the other. Hit the jump to watch the video.

If the screen is simply black, though it appeared to be loading, then later playing, it's not just you. I can't see it either.

Hopefully, who ever gets fired for coming up with this concept has a another few careers left in them.

Security guards are angry! Grainy video. See, skaters are irreverent, edgy and hip, JUST LIKE the new Mustang! (cue applause from marketing suits).
Pretty terrible ad, especially the B-movie-caliber CG of the car doing what I guess is the car-equivalent of an ollie. The shots of the car are nice, but it's packaged in a stomach-churningly cheesy "youthful" wrapping. If they were trying to tap into the same audience of the DC Sports/Ken Block crowd, they failed miserably.
Oh, and video doesn't work, saw it through the youtube channel.

Would've been 10 times better if they cut out all those special effects... Mustangs are great the way they are. Nice tire smoke though.

i completely agree, just looked like a cheesy hot wheel flying through the air. if it was 100% realistic, would've been much better.

Makes me want to wait for the 2011 mustang; give them another chance to wow me besides the 400hp v8

I like this kinda thing, but that video was just bad. The CG was crappy and both the skateboard tricks and mustang driving weren't that impressive.
PS, I hope Ken Block watches this video. I want to see him do a 360 in a Subaru.

I just bought a new 2010 black on black Mustang GT and that was just a wierd video and not in a good way. Love the car and am very impressed with Frod.

On a scale from one to gay, that video was Adam Lambert.

Looks like Ford hired the same guys that came up with the "Double Pits to Chesty" ad for that body spray company. I can see the meeting now....Ok guys lets make an ad for a car that will appeal only to people that in general cannot afford them...I mean it is not going to sell more of those ugly Focus Coupes or Ford Rangers that first time buyers can qualify for….I am 28 and I hate this ad, I was the internet sales director for a major Ford dealer for four years, the average new Mustang GT customer in Southern California was mid 30’s-mid 50’s man…last time I checked most of them are not out busting kick flips…
