Five Axis Aerius Prius – Click above for high-res image gallery

If you don't win the charity auction for the Aemulus-modified Prius, but want something flashy for your 2010 model, take a look at the Aerius Prius that made its debut at SEMA this year (they're practically the same vehicle). The kit designed by Five Axis will, according to Gas 2.0, be available to purchase in the coming months, although it hasn't released how much the mods will cost.

Five Axis, known more for their Scion-modding, used recycled polyester for the seats, resins made from post-industrial recycled wood in the interior and fitted ultra-low rolling resistance tires. Blending a changed appearance and efficiency, the Aerius gets side skirts and see-through wheel covers which contribute to a drag coefficient of 0.25. Tommy Kaira just got some competition.

      HotShoeSudios,

Wrong, you are a D-bag, let anyone drive whatever they want all right? What are you driving, a rusty old redneck truck? A minivan? Leave your generalizations for yourself.

The 3rd gen Prius looks exceptionally good, and even this bodykit looks good on it. Not a surprise it doesn't appeal to the clueless fanboys here, where Pontiacs, Fords and Caddies are considered 'hot' ! lol

Sorry but sometimes the truth hurts. People can drive what ever they want but since when does owning a "trendy" hybrid give anyone the right to bash and look down at the rest of us?

I don't know why but the majority of Prius owners have a major chip on their shoulder and are very condescending and pompous. Have you ever been to LA? Maybe it's just the liberal, left wing whack jobs there and in south Florida but the attitude and arrogance they spew is obnoxious. They literally go out of their way to castigate anyone that dare drives anything they deem un-green. Do a quick search and you find that many in the automotive sect share the Prius d-bag notion. Or aren't we allowed to have opinions contrary to yours?

I don't drive a old redneck truck and i am far from a Chevy, Pontiac fanboy. I do have a 2005 Frontier to pull my boat and trailer to the track but it doesn't have a rebel flag sticker if that is what you were inferring to somehow discredit my opinion.

@ Thomas: Duh. I'm well aware that smooth surfaces reduce drag. However, there's something that happens inside a wheel's inner cavity, regarding the vehicles braking system. This produces brake dust. Having a CLEAR DISK over a wheel is the most idiotic thing to do, as it will get dirty and gross looking in .... oh.... less than a mile. Also, how does one CLEAN the inside of these covers? Not that it matters, because the hot little piece of brake dust will attack the inner surface badly enough that you'll have to scrub so hard to get them off they won't be clear anymore.

So basically it's retarded piled on top of retarded.

Instead of "The Fast and Furious" look it's more like "The Slow and Pointless".....

Except UNLIKE every bodykit/spoiler featured in the entire F&F franchise, this aero is actually USEFUL. No fake vents, pretend splitters, and gigantic aluminum wings. A truly FUNCTIONAL bodykit. I for one, dig this. I am not a prius fan, but the idea of off the shelf bodykits that improve your top speed, MPG, and possibly even your handling seems like a fantastic idea. I think those clear wheel covers are fairly stupid though, good luck washing them.

more like the slow and the bi-curious. That looks like a can of expired mixed seafood.

Great! Now Prius owners can be pompous d-bags and have a little additional style while they pontificate about how they are saving the world.

So Librarians and Geeks worldwide can look mean.

Like putting a spiked collar on a Chihuahua.

And don't forget the pocket protectors and horned rim glasses.

This kit needs a serious splitter. It'd totally track this in a heartbeat. 'core to the extreme
      • 5 Years Ago
The Prius needs a proper dashboard instead of a bodykit.

Looking at the front nose gives true meaning to the analogy, "put lipstick on a pig and------------------------------" Oink Oink.

Like so many kits like this, it doesn't take kindly to driveways.

"Gruv - Looks are not the point. Functionality is. Except the dumb clear wheel covers. Functional aero= WIN."

So what you're saying is that Toyota failed to design it properly in the first place.
