Autoblog Podcast #152 - Paukert enhanced!
The usual suspects of Chris, Sam, and Dan are joined this week by Autoblog Editor Extraordinaire Chris Paukert. It's a packed 'cast, starting with the apparent go-ahead of the Cadillac Converj. The future of the Dodge Viper figures in to a few minutes of debate, as does Chrysler's marathon presentation about the company's plans going forward. Moving from Chrysler to the company's former overlords at Daimler, we talk about Mr. Paukert's Wild Ride in the AMG SLS, and take a complete left turn into Ford Ranger land and talk about the one we won't be getting. Toyota's floor mat/throttle controversy finishes up the topics before we take a couple questions and call it a night. A good, solid hour and a half for your enjoyment.

With regards to the Toyota furore, It's one more reason I wouldn't bother with an automatic. At least I could knock it out of gear in a manual and coast to a stop. ok, the engine would probably be wrecked but that's a small price to pay for not ploughing into an intersection.

I had heard very little about the Toyota issues. I never liked Toyota and now I'll fear getting smacked by one out of control.
I need to watch the ABC News report on it.

Wow, alright so I am not next in line for Drew's job. I just wanted to send a picture to show you what I bought! If you would like a better picture i can take one.
Thanks again for the advice.

Marcus, my man... we're teasing. I was more taking a shot at our extremely difficult to please Editor in Chief. The next time he tells us "perfect!" it will be the first. The pic was fine and thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks. I figured it was all in fun. But I felt the need to defend myself just a little bit!
As I said to Dan (who was very kind to email me). If I thought it was going to end up on the site I would have used something other than my iPhone.
Thanks again for all the great work you put into the podcast every week.

Within 2 hours of listening to this podcast, I went to lunch with a bunch of AF buddies. One had a rented Toyota Camry. That was an uncomfortable ride. They were all pretty shocked at the Toyota story.

Chris:
When you introduce Sam you always say the the same thing and it sounds like "...Sam Abuelsamid, Samid?"
Is it my hearing or an inside joke?
Lucas.
