VIDEO: BMW M3 GTS takes to the track
For a company that earned its reputation years ago as "the Ultimate Driving Machine," BMW's more recent efforts seem to have been based around inherently less sporty vehicle formats – SUVs and wonky looking crossovers, namely. Further, like most everyone else, the automaker's roadsters and sports coupes have been getting bigger and heavier with each passing generation. But now, fans of lighter weight and higher performance have something to look forward to once again.
Last week, the Bavarian automaker released details and photos (and even a short teaser video) of the new M3 GTS. The track-bred, street-legal super-coupe packs an engorged 4.4-liter V8 in a lightweight frame with all the trimmings for serious tail-sliding and hardcore curb-pouncing. And now they've released a pair of videos showing the asphalt-munching street monster doing its thing. Follow the jump to check 'em out.

Dayum, sounded and looked great (even through the techno soundtrack)!

does this thing come caged with a 5 point harnessess from the factory? if so, ill take 2

Only Americans call it "techno".

Well I am not American....aren't you just a prophet.
Also, I like House, Dance and Trance music...Tiësto (went to his new concert), deadmau5, Benassi, Ingrosso, Laidback Luke etc. However, regardless of the genre, I prefer my car videos with only one soundtrack--that of the car!

Umm....twin turbo 4.4 sounds good too. At least for two years...LOL!

tiesto sucks almost as much as benassi. quick question: when was the last time you applied self tanner? earlier this morning?

That's an opinion that you are entitled to. That said there is no reason to insult my taste in music. I never said that I listen to those artists exclusively, and frankly your school yard insults mean less to me than my last flush of the toilet.

Pounce a curb in that thing and you'll leave pieces of fascia behind.

I don't think many cars can take a curb very well. I usually try to avoid them.

if you have a smart car, you just have to lean back and pull up on the steering wheel and the front wheels pop up like on a bicycle
that's what's so smart about those cars - when the traffic gets too bad on the streets, you can just hop the curb and drive on the sidewalk.

Lol I think they meant corner and not curb, or maybe they meant kerbs.
Either way this thing is a cal killer

THATS WHAT THE X5 IS FOR
Quan 8:39PM (11/10/2009)
Sorry but I only jump cars in my X5. Curbs are child's play.

When I watch these videos, I just want to hear the engine note, not overly dramatic music pulled from the ending of a war movie.
With that said, fantastic car. Upping the power and lowering the weight on an M3 is always a good thing.

Exactly! Ditch the music and give us more engine. So frustrating. Top Gear seems top be the only place where they have figured that out.

Funny, they have the exact same letters aside from R/M.

Why even have the first vid? It looks like by two guys in the engineering department. The second actually looks like a professional was involved.
