SEMA 2009: Lexus F-Sports sitting in the sun
Lexus GS 350 F-Sport - click above image for hi-res gallery
It's tempting to dismiss Lexus' F-Sport as a direct Audi S-Line rip off. But unlike Audi's visual-only appearance upgrades, F-Sport actually offers some performance (intake, exhaust, brakes, etc.), handling and exterior body mods. Advantage, Lexus.
And we like the Yakuza-y stance of this GS 350 F-Sport. The GS has in many ways been the forgotten Lexus for the past few years (it's a 5 Series competitor, don't you know), but this TRD tuned GS has us remembering. First, is the paint – in this case Vibrance Orange Glow Candy. Hubba bubba. There's also a full ground effects package and a grill insert (which kind of makes it look like the new Subaru Legacy), F-Sport wheels, shocks, springs and brakes. All in all a well done if not enticing package. And get this -- the IS 350 C F-Sport is done up in the exact same way.

I'm sorry but last I checked going from and 2.0L 211 HP in an A4 sedan to a 3.0L 333HP in an S4 sedan is a performance upgrade to me. Advantage Audi.

there is a difference between an S4 and an A4 with an "S-line" package, which is limited to suspension and appearance.

Oh didn't know that..thanks. Still hate lexus though. Prob worlds most boring cars to drive. unless you have 375k.

Talking about boring, Audi isn't exactly the most involving car to drive either. It's almost competing with Lexus for the last spot if we exclude R8, but then again, LF-A is excluded as well.

you know, that's what all Lexus F-series drivers want to hear. hey, your car looks like a subie!

At least they used a GS and not the ES... otherwise it would be just a Camry TRD.

I want specs....0-60 skid pad etc. Should be a capable performer with all the F parts installed.
Looks great also.

Actually I would like to see specs too, but only because I saw a review of an IS with F-Sports parts and IIRC the "upgrades" made the car WORSE.
JDM Life 10:18AM (11/05/2009)
Doubt it.

Don't stand in front of that thing if anyone starts it. Before you know it you'd be plastered to the hood going down the road at 130mph with no way to stop.
Are the floor mats a delete option on this years model?

I like what they done to the Lexus IS 200. To this day, it's one of the nicest cars from Lexus imo.

also, if you notice on the LFA there is the stylized F near the side mirror.
remember lexus tried the L-Finesse line which used a similar designed F way back in the day.

IMO, the GS is the most aesthetically pleasing car of the Lexus line-up. It's got a contemporary, classy look that doesn't look boyish like the IS, a wide stance that exudes confidence, but doesn't look unwieldy like their larger cars, and doesn't actually look like a Toyota!
I just hate it when I see GS's that are completely blacked out. By that I mean tinted windows, tinted lights, black paint job, black rims. Too many of those around LA.

Looks good, i like it !!
Furthermore, it is a good move by Lexus to introduce the 'F-Sport' upgrade package to the lineup and no-doubt will prove relatively popular.
Keep up the good work.
Cheers
ps. an IS350 'F-Sport' would defantly be one of the best V6 models on the market
