SEMA 2009: Vaughn Gittin's all-carbon fiber RTR-C Mustang
Of all the Mustangs in the Ford booth, Vaughn Gittin Jr.'s carbon fiber RTR-C Mustang was by far our favorite. To answer the question everyone is wondering – no, it's not a wrap. The carbon fiber body panels are the real deal. According to Vaughn, the lightweight material saves 400-500 pounds, although some of that weight is added back thanks to the supercharger, larger brakes and headers. In total, the car weighs in at just over 3,350 pounds.
Aside from the exterior, we were impressed with the level of detail that went into building the car. Inside, the Sparco seats are also constructed of carbon fiber, and the rear seats have been taken out and replaced with a tasteful leather-covered panel. Even small things like the RTR logos look like they were made with an attention to detail.
Want one of your own? Vaughn will be selling a limited run of just 10 RTR-C Mustangs, although the price tag is a hefty $135,000. Still, if you do decide to drop the cash, you're guaranteed to have one of the 10 coolest Mustangs in the world.

Not bad. Rear tire feels a bit small.

Why a supercharger? If you're going through all the expense of putting those carbon panels together, at least put a 5.0 Cammer under the hood and keep the lightweight theme going. A full carbon bodied Mustang that still weighs over 3,300 pounds just makes me laugh.

Exactly what I was thinking, except I was leaning towards the aluminum Ford GT 5.4L.

Carbon fiber bodies that look EXACTLY the same as stock panels (aside from the front and rear covers which can be found ALL over) FTL.
Something along the lines of the Mansory Cyrus would have been more appreciated by me.

the purpose of carbon fiber parts is to cut weight, not to scream "i am different!"

huh, When was the last time you checked the average weight for a 2+2 coupe 1980's?
For comparison the ZR1 weight in at 3324 pounds and that thing is mainly made out of plastic.

vespid82, not at this quality unless you look at the Supercar end. The Carbon work is exceptional and all the exteriorl, including the cant rail, a-pillars etc, door shutline areas is in Carbon.
Easily the most impressive Mustang at the show.

With all the attention paid to the exterior, they should have finished detailing the engine bay and finger prints on the seats. The engine bay in the pictures is seriously dissapointing with no finish or markings that would be fitting of a car like this.

This car looks really sexy with all the amount of carbon fiber.

With the amazing amount of labor that went into fitting all of the body panels I am surprised the aftermarket seats got nearly as much text. Oooh it's got Sparcos! A little more about the extreme craftsmanship - and if these panels are going to be available for sale - would have been nice.

I hope this is painted with the $60k/gallon coating that prevents it from turning yellow in the sun and degrading.
