Suzuki dresses up a Kizashi for Halloween

The boys and girls at Suzuki got into the Halloween spirit and dressed up a new Kizashi to celebrate the day. So what kind of costume would you put on a new sedan that aspires to redefine the company and show that this small carmaker can play with the big boys?
Much like a kid who slaps a giant "S" on his chest to transform into a superhero, this Kizashi put on a super-sedan's duds and thrust its chest out proudly. Looking for all the world like an Audi RS4 knockoff, this particular Kizashi was actually being readied for show duty at SEMA next week, where it'll join some of its siblings and preview some aero tweaks and chrome highlights that might eventually make it onto a production trim package for the Kizashi.
Although the differences were fairly minor, they worked together pretty well, giving the car a more aggressive and upscale look. Close examination of the photos will show a new lower front fascia with a jutting lip, chrome surrounds and blacked out honeycomb grille inserts. The sides get a similar redo with sill extensions and a chrome highlight strip. Meanwhile the tail gets a simple decklid spoiler with integrated cyclops. The final touch that makes this RS4 emulator work is the switch to Audi-like split-spoke alloy wheels. We'd say this tarted up Kizashi definitely looked more treat than trick.

That's a sexy looking sedan!!
I like it a lot! it looks so sporty, if they wanted us to worry about this car, they definately got it wrong. It's sharp.

I don't know why, but I am having such a hard time liking this car. Loved the last of the 3 concepts, but proportionally this car doesn't look right. The front lights are too large and give the car a Jetta/Sebring appearance. The rear, tries too hard to be different, reminding me of the Infinity G35.
Again, don't get me wrong, this car may look better in person... but whether it's seeing it in still pictures or in-motion on TV, it doesn't appeal to me... even this "sport" concept.
Oh well...

I agree, i kinda like the front, but the back is just a bit too weird

The Suzuki of today is a far cry from the USDM badge engineered Daewoos of old...and this handsome home grown Kizashi is proof of that.
This looks like one of those "chassis verification" V6 prototypes doing media rounds...possibly a pre-production V6.

I really like the interior of this car. It looks like it might have a upscale feel to it. Although I'd have to see one to really validate it

That does look like a RS4. Of course, I wouldn't say that it's better but looks good overall. Basically it's like a Corolla with the "S" badge but this is way better than the Corolla.

If they make a top-line performance variant of this car, it has to look like this.

Looks really sharp. Too bad Suzuki can't get the word of this car out fast enough. It would be a decent player if it grabbed even a small foothold.

Is that one of those electric Mini's right next to it?

Yep.

Debadge the back, remove the chrome off the sides and this is a winner. Who would have thought that Suzuki would have been able to make such a compelling design.

I'm pretty sure this a V6 Kizashi model based on the front lip and rear spoiler added to the car. The unique 18" wheels and silver plastic on the steering wheel is also a give away.

I can't wait to drive this car, hopefully it will be available when my lease runs out so that I can compare this to a 2010 Jetta Wolfsburg.
BTW I think the lower mess grille with the chrome fog light surrounds upfront looks sharp(and should be standard). The rest of the chrome accessories I can live without.

Seconded. I wish Suzuki had pulled a turbo Ecotec from the GM parts bin rather a V6 to put in the Kizashi. The lighter weight would probably do better for the handling and require less shoehorning to fit under hood.

Suzuki interns hitting the comments hard tonight. Car looks like every other bloated, boring, CamrySentraSebring on the road. Really poor evolution from the awesome concepts, just shameful execution. Yawn.

I have to say, Suzuki is growing on me.
Work gave me a swift not so long ago while my usual ride was in the shop.
The first day i absolutely hated it .. but after a week ..
Somehow the engine really grew on me.
I shouldn't have done it or talk about it, but I used to push the engine into the red all the time in the beginning because I hated it lol
And i was impressed about how it took it, how it sounded, how it shifted.
The mechanics were awesome.
Suppose it has to do with the fact that they only made bikes usually.
Long story short .. a decent engine in a confortable car .. for a lot less then the competition ..
You go suzuki :)
