BREAKING: Acura confirms Euro Honda Accord Tourer coming as TSX sport wagon!

When we polled you yesterday afternoon about whether Honda was right in choosing to build the insurrectionary 2010 Accord Crosstour instead of picking the Accord Touring from its overseas showrooms, we didn't know that Acura was going to announce that it was doing just that today. Honest. In fact, as far as we're concerned, you guys made it happen. Well, 47.7% of you (at last count), anyway, as bringing over the Accord Tourer was your number one suggestion for a Honda/Acura load-lugger. In any case, in a (very) brief press release available after the jump, Acura has announced the addition of a TSX sport wagon to its 2011 lineup, and it will likely look suspiciously like the Euro-market Accord Touring model that many people have been clamoring for. Acura confirms that the model will be based on the TSX sedan, which is itself basically a Euro Accord. It is unclear which powertrains we'll get, or if styling will be tweaked from its European counterpart, but it is expected to arrive next fall. Color us excited.
Now, about that JDM Odyssey...

The Power Plenum looks fine on the TSX imo. It's overdone on the TL... but it's still way better than the "LOL :D" grille on the new Mazdas.

Where do I sign? This may just be my new daily driver when it drops (unless BMW decides to start selling the diesel wagons here) ... and if i do get it, I'm putting the H badged Euro grille on it.

Maybe GM might bring over the Insignia Sports Tourer (as the Regal) after hearing this

"*it being the ugly grille treatment...ughhh.."
I'll be buying one for sure, but before that, I'll have to find the place where I can buy the O.E.M. Euro Accord grill.

I've got to agree with chconline, I would take the Acura grille over the Mazda grille also.
Randy915 6:45PM (10/28/2009)
Does that mean we'll be seeing a Camry SportWagon too next year?
the4thheat 6:53PM (10/28/2009)
I kinda wish they made a Camry wagon but I guess we're stuck with the Venza (which also has a wacky grille). I don't hate the Venza but I just don't see why you need a CUV with 20" wheels and a hideous grille instead of making a nice wagon.
SOhp101 7:12PM (10/28/2009)
OMFG. I have to find my wallet asap.
thritter 7:28PM (10/28/2009)
Maybe by late next year Acura will have moved to a more subtle, less game-boy version of the parrot beak/bottle-opener grille, aka the "Power Perineum"
garlinski 8:54PM (10/28/2009)
Hey Acura... Follow VW/Audi's lead and drop the Diesel in the TSX Sportwagon... You will sell every single one!
