Reverse entry drift -- Click above to view the video after the jump

You know the famous soccer announcer (football to you internationals), Andrés Cantor, who screams "Goooooaaaallllll" after a score? A bit of performance genius has had some Japanese drift announcers overcome in similar ecstasy. When M. Kawabata launched his Nissan S13 (a 240 SX to us Yanks) into the corner, he threw the car around so quickly the rear end enters the turn first -- and then he kept it under control. It's being called "drifting history" and "the perfect drift" and "the best drift ever." Make the jump to see the vid and judge for yourself.

Impressive, but just like anything else, you have to do it twice for it to matter.

I hope this doesn't come off as sounding racist but there's nothing quite like listening to exuberant Japanese commentators :-)

      Nice drift too.

Isn't this a week or so old? Anyways, very imrpessive, especially considering the entry speed and it's rwd. Where's Ken now? haha

Look Kawabata, I’m really happy for you. Imma Let you finish. But Gigi Galli had the best drift of all time

why not the LS2LS7? - super low-grip tires on the back to make drifting easy?

If you are talking about teenagers trying to drift their beat-up 240sx I would agree, but serious drifters use the same sticky tires you would use for a weekend track car.
Yeah! And he has AWD too, not like that easy to manage RWD! Yeah!

        Seriously comparing these?!
That's exactly the video I was looking for, since it's a bit superior to the dorifto vid just posted.

Doing that stuff in the mountains... a whole different level of danger.

Hell yes. In the mountains with a road as wide as the car was long. Genius.
And better controlled. And he had to actually set up his car to go places instead of just putting super low-grip tires on the back to make drifting easy.
      Psssh. I can do that.

      I wish. :(

But....but....but....Ken Block does that ALL the time!!!!
Lol are you kidding me? Awd....gee, ya think?

It's called a joke. Apparently most of you had your sarcasm detectors turned off today. Must be Monday. Too bad Jalopnik's mobile site doesn't work as well. They would have laughed it off. Sheesh.

At :38, I can't believe how relaxed and unhurried his body movements were. I would be freakin' out, with my arms and legs flying everywhere trying to control a move like that.
Yeah, it almost looks serene from inside the car.
I'm pretty sure he practiced this thing like 1000 times.
