On its way to doing the 1/4-mile in 11.07 seconds at 128 mph, a Hennessy-tuned 700-horsepower Cadillac CTS-V hit .99 longitudinal G as it left the start line. By the end of the run the phone inside the car was ringing, and it was your friendly neighborhood OnStar representative wondering "What the hell do you think you're doing?" Ok, not quite... but they did have some questions. Follow the jump to watch the video.

The Hennessey CTS-V will be a great collectors car! As with many Hennessey products, they will be very rare due to supply ;)

You know, lots of people say "epic" abouts lots of posts and lots of things! I'm not even a massive fan of the CTS-V (but I respect it) however THIS truly was Epic!

As much as I hate Hennessey, and know that it's really not hard to get the CTS-V to perform at those levels... That's pretty damn funny.

0.99G, you would be doing 62 miles an hour in 2.83 seconds.
It's a fast car, but getting it to accelerate at 0.99G doesn't seem like it would be all that easy.

Perhaps its funny that they called just after the run... however I didn't hear many questions from OnStar.
A non story (IMO) or just another way for AB to post another story on Hennessey???
Love the CTS-V... awesome car bone stock... just think Hennessey are S-C-U-M. If I had the $$$ to make it even more wicked... would NEVER drop by Hennessey.

Blower cam, valvetrain, and the blower from an LS9 (yes they are different blowers) is about all it would take to get those number down at the wheels.

Scares the sh*t out of you when it happens. I was driving along in my GMC Sierra 2500HD with a 6 inch lift and 35 inch tires and had to slam on the brakes. Even with all that mass to stop I still managed to pull enough peak G that OnStar came over the system and asked "Sir are you ok?!"

Whitecollercriminal: Pretty funny that Beck should suddenly care about surveillance. Cheney installed more citizen surveillance in place than any administration in history - and I'm sure we don't even know the half of it yet.

True... it shouldn't be us who're made at him... it should only be the many, many customers that have been completely screwed over by Hennessey by having their money taken and no tuned cars ever delivered... unless they live in Texas, where Hennessey can't hide behind interstate jurisdictional issues.

Isn't that what it's supposed to do? I mean, that's what they've been advertising on TV for the last... forever.
Though in this case, the .99 G here was kind of in the opposite direction as what a head on collision would be. So I guess they thought someone got rear ended REALLY hard... for 1/4 mile.
