Tokyo 2009: Alpina B7 Bi-Turbo LWB is longer, and therefore better

The Alpina B7 Bi-Turbo long wheelbase revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show today doesn't add anything to the less well-endowed Alpina B7 we saw at Geneva except length, but isn't that enough? The double-turbo'd 4.4-liter V8 brings 507 romping horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque – all of which is enough to get the white whale to sixty in 4.8 seconds.
Alpina's custom 21-inchers support an interior package touched up with the tuner's logo throughout. Our only cause for pause: the much larger steering wheel; the smaller diameter unit in the regular BMW helps to make the execu-barge a hoot to throw around a track. See it all for yourself in the gallery of high-res images below.

That's what I said, except there were a few choice words before and after it, like "Only" and "What the f#ck?"

Must be a number jumble.
Now did they mean 527, 572, 725 or 752?

Going by the press release of the regular wheel base Alpina, this engine makes 700Nm of torque which converted to pound foot is roughly 516 lb-ft. So yeah I would say there is a typo.

The side profile looks like one of Shaq's sneakers.

Funny how Alpina has kept the same wheel design for the past 25 years...All the way back to the BMW Alpina B series in the early eigthies!
They are nice but still....

The Alpinas have always left me cold for some reason.
Never really cared for them.
I wish BMW would do a proper M type 7 series themselves.
I can't for the life of me figure out why they will not do it.

Same, while I love the idea I haven't seen a good looking Alpina since the time they fiddled with an E30.
Also what is with their color schemes and pin stripes? Do they have a SINGLE graphic designer working for them? Don't tell me Alpina green is a niche like Takata green, I don't think so, it's just ugly ass "I don't know what the hell I'm doing, I've never used Photoshop before" green straight from the depths of color picker tool's hell.

Will Alpina be doing a version of the V-12 as rumored?

I have always loved B7's since I first saw one in person many years ago.
This one doesn't disappoint either.
Drool.
