VIDEO: Chrysler has 300 ways to pitch its sedan for 2010

It's not easy to market a vehicle that has been on the market for over five years with changes so imperceptible that we couldn't name them if we tried. Chrysler is in just such a situation with its flagship 300 sedan, which is most definitely getting long-in-the-tooth. That won't stop the Auburn Hills, MI-based automaker from pitching it, however, and the Pentastar is putting a genuine effort forward with its new ad for the old gangsta sled.
The new spot proclaims that the 2010 300 will put the life back in nightlife, and the spot combines several shots of gorgeous women having a great time intermingled with a few fancy shots of the 300C burning the late night candle at both ends. The ad is part of Chrysler's new "Connect" campaign, which appears to be the swan song for the Pentastar's long-time agency of record, BBDO. Hit the jump to watch the 30 second spot. The Chrysler 300 may be geriatric in car years, but it's still rear-wheel drive, its 5.7-liter V8 continues to pack 360 horsepower and it still looks pretty damn sharp in black.

Damn! Why couldn't you have been related to the girl sitting in the backseat instead? Putting a girl that beautiful in the commercial just takes away from the car itself. What a silly idea that was.
Apart from that, it's a very effective commercial. Good music, sounds a lot like the song "Sway". The night lights make this car look good too. There's nothing like the 300 on the road today.
That brunette though... hot damn.

I cannot see anyone who was in that commercial buying a 300 in real life. I see them all the time in pretty much two ways - blinged out by wannabe thugs, and driven all too sensibly by anyone 50 and over.
Hate to say it, but most everything Chrysler will not be missed when it's gone (and I mean just the Chrysler brand, not everything Jeep and Dodge as well).

Wow...I'm going to have to agree with my autoblog doppleganger on this one!
Everything on that commercial was great...except the Chrysler 300. It's the same old cheap plastic interior, boring bland look exterior.
And this commercial is cheating out new buyers. We all know that Chrysler is currently creating a Newer, more stylish 2011 Chrysler 300...
...so if anyone sees this commercial and says "Ohhh! Look at that car! It looks nice! I want one!"...then they buy it...they are gonna feel MAJOR CHEATED when the upcomign refresh debuts.
Thats it. I've given up on Dodge. I've crumpled up the paper, and thrown it in the trash-can. I'm done.
And I'm walking outside into my Corvette or Mustang now.

Young urban professionals who are still employed spend so much on rent and coffee that there is no money left of a $37,000 car. If they did, it would be a BMW 3 or C-Class.

Eh? I'm a young urban professional and I recently bought a car that cost almost exactly that much. And it was a direct 300C (SRT-8) competitor...

I'm with Drew on this one, and the 3-series and C-class is only if they're at the law firm. I've got a few friends in this bracket, they don't buy anything more than a Honda/Nissan because in an urban environment, driving is a hassle, only exaggerated with something like a 300.

The 300 has the same problem Chrysler's entire lineup has. Nobody wants to pay full price for product past it's best before date.
I think the 300 will be remembered as a classic. Unfortunately the mechanicals are already classics. Hopefully the redesign will help but it is obviously going to be a long wait.

Yeah.... doesnt connect with me at all. All its telling me is if I hang around a bunch of skinny models I'll have a fun time at a tango. Maybe slap in some MPG figures and HP along with that old "We beat Xcar in..." and then maybe (doubtful) it would mean something to me but alas nope.

Whatever you do Chrysler, please ditch the standard "300" in the next generation, just have a 300HP+ V6 as the base 300C(Luxury version) with the 5.7 and 6.4. the base 300 should NOT be there, thats the Charger's job.
