VIDEO: Citroën using cool interactive "augmented reality" tech to pitch new DS3
Citroën DS3 in augmented reality -- Click above to watch video
Citroën is using the latest in video technology to promote its newest compact, the DS3. First, you go to Citroën's augmented reality website and print out the interactive pages. Then, after you enter the augmented reality area of the site, you hold those interactive pages in front of your webcam, and what you'll get is a DS3 placed in various situations that you can control with the piece of paper in your hands.
Of course, you shouldn't take our word for it – check out the video after the jump and then hop over to Citroën's site to have a go for yourself.

Wish we had Citroën in the US, always like their hatches.

This is one brand I wish would come to America already. Some seriously cool cars. Though I'm not sure how many Americans would take a C5 over a boring Camry or Accord only on the fact that it's French.

It was pretty boring--been there done that--until they got to the steering part. Awesome!

Mini did that 3D car thing in Germany a while ago, this looks similar, with a few extra things.

Didn't work for me... just left with a blank white screen, after installing the plug-ins on my OS 10.6 iMac. Don't waste your time.

It's too bad they didn't use design to make this a good successor for the DS name. The original DS was such a unique and iconic spaceship that they were able to sell it for 20 years (with updates during that time, of course, but they were all recognizable as a DS.) This looks like a nice car, but nothing on the order of the "real" DS.

I saw not one but two DS19s on the streets of Oxford Sunday.
Hmmm... what a pity they didn't simply update that utterly drop-dead-gorgeous design rather than this not-so-drop-dead little thing.
Still, hats off to Citroen - its range is now one of the most interesting on the market.

Very cool interactive video. I know everyone wants the new DS to look a little more like the old one but that is just not the case, so lets get over it.
Hopefully it will promise to be a good car going head to head with cars like the mini.
Great video, thanks
