Time Waster of the Day: Ferrari launches 458 Italia configurator
Imagination's a beast, and the beast must be fed. So if you're an automotive enthusiast looking for a good way to waste some time, grab a fork and knife, because Ferrari has launched its online configuration utility for the new 458 Italia.
The new supercar isn't on the street yet, and so far we've only seen it in bright red and yellow. Ferrari's color catalog, however, extends far beyond those two primary shades to include silvers, grays, blacks and more...plus a few more shades of red, of course. This is a Ferrari, after all, and Ferraris belong in red...especially the mid-engined ones. We'd go for this more subdued shade, Rosso Mugello.
The configurator also lets you choose from a number of options inside and out, with choices for contrasting leather upholstery on everything. Have a go and let us know how you'd order yours in Comments below. Thanks for the tip, Matt!

That's it. If I can't get it in Dubai Chrome, I'm not ordering one!

Not that I am or ever will be in the market for one of these, but I REALLY hope it looks better in person than in ANY image or video I've seen of it so far... :sigh:

Let's see. It's a four hour math lecture or pretending I am buying a Ferrari. Ferrari FTW.

Get it in red, yellow, or if you must, black... or don't get it at all.
Nothing makes me more sick than to see a Ferrari in I'm-an-accountant silver or I'm-a-pu**y powder blue.

I like seeing a Ferrari in anything but Resale Red, thank you very much.

The problem with red Ferrari's is that everybody thinks that "Ferraris belong in red" and that was true before there were any mid-engine ones. I've seen some astonishingly beautiful ones in dark blue, dark brown, deep green (almost black) and other colors.
Red, unless you really like the color simply announces that you have one. If you really can afford one, you've got enough money not to have to brag about money anymore.

No stick shift option? That sucks, I guess the days of the old school gated shifter are done.

What is the most valuable organ I can sell? Seriously anything for this car.
By the way I was at Frankfurt and it looks much better in person.
