VIDEO: BMW's "Jump for Joy" Part 2 ends with Audi nut buster

Last week, we showed you BMW's new "Jump for Joy" ad. The 1:16 video features BMW owners literally jumping into their vehicles in spectacular fashion. Decent commercial overall, but it lacked that certain zing that Audi's "Meet the Beckers" spots showed last year. Remember those Internet gems? Audi was absolutely brutal towards BMW, Mercedes and Lexus owners, and we loved every minute of it.
What we didn't know last week when we posted the original "Jump for Joy" commercial was that BMW also created an extended version of the ad, this time totaling nearly two minutes in length. The first half of the video looks a lot like the original spot, save for a bearded voyeur watching on as the BMW drivers jumped into their Bavarian g-rides. At 1:10 in, we discover that the stalker guy is, in fact, an Audi owner, and he wants to jump for joy too. Needless to say, Mr. Audi doesn't prove to be as graceful as his BMW-owning neighbors. He clumsily botches his attempt at jumping into his car, jamming his testicles in the process. Not as funny as "Meet the Beckers," perhaps, but not a bad effort at demoralizing the competition, either. Hit the jump to view the testy ad for yourself.

This video just reinforces the stereotype that BMW drivers buy BMWs to make up for what they weren't naturally endowed with. Thus, the jumping around without fear of hurting anything.

Maybe is just my preference, but in absolutely no way does the audi look better than the BMWs. There are a couple handsome Audi's and then the R8 but for the it seems like they just use the LED running lights to hide the blandness of the body. I would definitely call myself a BMW fanboy but there is no way you could say the Audi looks good here. Though, you could make a case about some racism (the Eastern European looking guy is the 'bad guy' and has the worse car).
There are some nice looking cars that Audi makes, and this A4 is not even the newest model, the new one looks better. But advertisements are not supposed to give the competition a fair look.
And audi arena,

Your fanboyism is sometimes hilarious. How is the ad making Audi look better? I'm not a fan of either brand, but the ad does reflect reality. Boring, dull Audi with a driver with goatie who looks like gay or pedophile on one side (even J Clarkson highlighted the Audi drivers, and looking at my experience, it's usually a wannabe cheap manager that is driving Audi and pretending to look important because he has LEDs). Overhyped BMW with young teenagers who are under the influence of hormones and need to show off on other side. Won't even comment on Audi looks as there isn't anything at all to praise, bar R8 Coupe, and Audi isn't far off from taking the 1st place for blandness from Lexus. Time to get your complimentary VW badges.

as an audi driver, i have to say that whereas the shortened version was kinda lame, i thought this was pretty funny! the whole thing makes more sense now, hehe. at the end of the day tho, far more bmw drivers i know wish they were audi drivers rather than the other way around, so yah...

I'm sorry, but I've yet to meet a BMW 335i owner who said something like "OMG I wish I had that A4". Same goes for all other models.

seriously though, yes, in north america, most (if not the super majority) of BMW drivers do not aspire to own an audi.

As a proud owner of a 2005 A8L I have to say that BMW is a completely different type of car than Audi. BMW's are luxury cars with sporty driving dynamics, Audi = civil luxury cars with cool lighting.. Audi is competing with MB and Lexus. I didn't get a 750 because I didn't want to feel every bump or crevice on the road. Thats what my little e30 is for. The M1 is coming so expect the R8 to be eating its dust.
