eBay Find of the Day: #1 of 5 1993 Lister Corvette is nothing if not ambitious

Back in the early Nineties, Lister North America looked to recapture some of the awesomeness that is the 1959 Lister Corvette, a British car built to compete with the likes of the Jaguar and Aston Martin on the British racing scene. Opinions on whether or not the reborn company was successful are split, and the endeavor resulted in just five 1992 and 1993 Lister-bodied Chevrolet C4 Corvettes being produced.
This being the case, finding one of these rare automobiles for sale isn't a particularly common occurrence. Hence today's eBay Find of the Day – a 1993 Lister Corvette dolled up in bright yellow with a black interior. Regardless of what you think of the bespoke bodywork, the guts of the 'Vette are sound. There's certainly nothing wrong with a worked-over Chevrolet LT1 V8 engine stroked to 383 cubic inches and topped with a Vortech supercharger, right?
This particular Lister Corvette has traveled just 7,048 miles and has apparently been the subject of a magazine article or two. Bidding is currently at $16,600 (reserve not met) and there's less than a day left on the auction. Check out our gallery of images below and the listing in the link below.

The fenders and clamshell are gawdawful, but I kind of like the front clip... if it has turn signals.

i like the front and rear ok, don't care for the wheel well arch overhang...they look ok at a distance but not as much close up. am i seeing some curb scratches on the lower front facia and maybe some bad panel fittings? don't really care for the side mounted exhausts, and why both side and rear exhausts? the interior seems to work and of course it's really all about the engine after all. one thing though... that underneath front frame weld looks poorly done to me, at least what i can see, looks like a bad arc or poor gas weld. i'd definitely want to look at that closer, it wouldn't be a deal killer but it might be a red flag.
for a 15+ year old custom body corvette, the price seems more than fair. if i were seriously interested, i'd have to see it in person before i bid.

i noticed that later, but got caught up in what looks to me like the bad weld ...
i have a hard time buying into fake "functionality" like phony hood scoops and the ubiquitous wing on the rear of cars which never see speeds requiring one. to me those are styling gimmicks i take a pass on.
i guess i prefer car design that is more "organic" than "transformer" in concept.
