In terms of tracks, we'd guess that while the Nürburgring gets the most press, Laguna Seca is number two. And with good reason, as Mazda's Raceway is fast, technical, beautiful and challenging. Plus, because the famed track's in Caramel, California, you get gorgeous, picture postcard weather for ten months of the year. If not more. Then, of course, there's the famous Corkscrew, and all of the hijinks that it ensures.
So large is Laguna's legend that Sony is now using to the track to sell its newly PSP ported version of Gran Turismo, the ever popular racing game. And as far as commercials go, this is one of the few we wish were a few minutes longer. The 'vert takes place on track at Laguna Seca where a Corvette ZR1 is chasing down a Ford GT and Nissan GT-R. And is that Tanner Foust? We think it is. Also, bonus points for whoever can identify the car the Blue Devil passes at the very beginning. Okay, we've stalled long enough. looks like they pass a silver E60 M5 in the game but they couldn't get one in real life so used someones dark gray/purple E36 M3 instead

Only three opponents and simplified game entry doesn't cut it for me.
I'll play the original GT (a backup of the original CD I own, duh) on my hacked firmware PSP, thanks.
When an open 6.x firmware is released to the community with a straightforward upgrade path from 3.x OE, I might consider this title out of curiosity, but no way am I giving up all my emulators and homebrew for a cut down ... no, make that *slashed* ... version of GT4 just because it has some new tracks and cars in it.
Hey, I might go for GT5 instead and buy a PS3, but if Rockstar isn't bothering to release updates for GTA, it's not worthwhile.

Are you kidding me? GT1 emulated on a PSP (or in it's intended form) looks terrible compared to this. I played GT1 and GT2 on a CFW'd PSP as well. I say bring on GT:PSP.

First of All, Laguna Seca is an amazing track. I've had the pleasure to drive on it multiple times, and it's awesome! Glad to see it's getting this publicity!
Secondly, the track isn't in Caramel (it's spelled Carmel by the way.....) it's in unincorporated Monterey County, Salinas if you wanna be specific.
I also have to agree that I think it's a BMW.

It looks like an E60 M5 in the PSP, but the car he actually passes looks like an E39 M5
