VIDEO: Ferrari 458 Italia clip aims to sear your eyes out with raw awesome

Dude. Let us repeat that. Dude. We've seen a lot of car videos in our time. Way too many, really. Because most of them suck. With the exception of Top Gear, how many truly excellent car videos can you think of? We bet you can count them all on one hand. Well, time to bust out another finger. Before today, the previous amazing car video champ was the Shell/Ferrari F1 commercial. While that's set the standard, this brand new Ferrari 458 Italia video could knock the old king right off the dang thrown. And then some. Seriously, it's that good. But don't take our word for it, make the jump and see for yourself. Oh, and just wait until you get the first glimpse of the engine... possibly NSFW.

DO WANT.
Glad to see the LED's - I think the car looks pretty damn good. And the speed of the shifts is unreal!

I agree mate, and... I want one.

Double clutch transmission, it doesn't shift. It transition gears, the next gear starts taking over drive before the previous one is released.

I approve. Although they certainly don't need my approval.

Am I the only one that find it repulsive (side view and interior totally aside)?
Seriously, what's up with Ferrari as of late?

I'll agree. It's a great car, but I am actually looking forward to what some of the tuners (novitec, mansory, etc.) do with it, as the nose and tail lights of it just don't appeal to me like the 430/599 do. Not that I could ever buy one...

+1, Italia is not exactly a looker :(

You're definitely not the only one. It's atrocious, especially that blocky 80's front fascia.

Wow I thought I was the only one to think so. This is IMO the ugliest Ferrari to come out in a long time.
Although the video was pretty nice.

... And what's up with me and repeated grammatical mistakes in my posts as of late? Meh, my French is probably taking over again.
But you got my point.

Front doesnt fit with the rear and the headlight design is questionable at best. I love the interior though.

It's like a mix of French/Korean design....I hate it too...

I also think this is only marginally better than the repulsively reprehensible California. When Im in the market for a super car I think it will be a Lamborghini if they keep this design up.

No, you're not alone. Ferrari haven't done a good looking mid-engined car since the 355.

The first shot Ferrari released of it absolutely blew me away...

Seeing all the angles in this video kinda changed my tune... I don't hate it, but it's not scoring any points.

Me too. Its a V8 manta ray that eats tarmac.
Just keep it away from the children. For their safety.

I like it, but I found the commercial stupid, what was the point of saying there is no special effects in the beginning, if they are still trying to make it look like a movie, especially the part where the cars keep overtaking each other like one is in a different power/weight class then the other...

Bingo!
Great car but sad video. Can't stand all that fake, not believable overtaking. Ferrari, of all companies, should know how a real overtaking on the track happens, and make them look credible on the movie.
