Spy Shots: Lexus LF-A back on 'Ring wearing white
Looks like the Lexus LF-A (LF-L?) might be closer to production than we had thought. The gang at NextAutos just posted spy pics of a very production-ready-looking white LF-A doing some more hotlapping at the Nordschleife.Although this ages-in-the-making supercar has been trotted out at several auto shows and twice been raced in the 24 hour endurance race 'round the 'Ring, it wasn't until recently that Toyota President Akio Toyoda confirmed it for production and even stated that it will be sold in the good ole U.S. of A.
Rumors have suggested that the car might go on sale in the UK as early as October with a price tag around £250,000. At that price we might have to settle for piloting this 550-hp, V10 beast virtually in Need for Speed SHIFT. Until then, click over to NextAutos.com for a full gallery.

I don't know if this is a lame attempt at racism or you're just being a douche.
Probably both.

I swear to god the Japanese have lost their minds. This car just makes no sense to me. It's style is that of a 3 year old with the attention span of a goldfish. It's like they listened directly to all the great Japanese after-market tuning companies and just threw all their suggestions right at it. Swoopy bits? Check. Pointy things? Check. Vents? In spades. Where is the message in all that junk? The cohesion of a well thought out statement is such a huge necessity on a car aiming as high as this.
I really believe that they'll have produced an excellent machine. Fast with great engineering, no doubt. And I am extremely impressed by the bravery of Toyota to go for something so totally different. But, sometimes people need to listen to their gut a little more and stop themselves from being brash and stubborn. I mean, in theory it's a great idea...but in theory mating a narhwal and horse would have awesome results, too. Curiously, it'd would probably birth something looking similar to the LF-A.
Sorry for the rant.=)

Maybe you prefer an Escalade with spinners?
Bigbuck17 1:46PM (9/18/2009)
Leclerc are you sterotyping cause Im white and my bricks the same color as the groupies.
Rob 1:45PM (9/18/2009)
@Leclerc:
No, definitely not.
Maybe I'm being a bit unfair to this particular car because, really, I'm ranting at Japanese styling in general as of late. Mazda is getting crazy with their smiley faces, Honda has large lumpy-assed crossovers, their luxury cars have beaks, and Lexus bombed with their new concept hatch. I love that they feel they can let loose from some of their very traditional/boring ways, but it's like they all turned the crazy dial from a 2ish to 11. Take it back a few notches!

@Big Buck... uhhh, what?? What does an Escalade with spinners have to do with stereotyping. FYI , I am African American. Next nugget of wisdom?

Good luck matching the ZR-1 (except for the interior)...

This will blow the Corvette and Viper out of the water, and have an interior that isn't complete crap to boot.
Detroit will lose yet ANOTHER market....how long until they lose trucks, too?

"This will blow the Corvette and Viper out of the water"
By that rationale, it will also "blow" away Ferraris and Lambos ?
I promise you it will not touch the ZR1. Why else did they postpone its launch date ?
adrenalnjunky 1:46PM (9/18/2009)
well - for roughly $400k USD, based on the price quoted in the article, I would damn well hope it outperforms both, fanboi.
Level 2:15PM (9/18/2009)
shhhhhhh I don't even think it will touch a Nissan GT-R which promoted Acura to rethink their "NSX" and pretty certain is why Lexus has been postponing the LF-A for such a long time....
BigMcLargeHuge 2:31PM (9/18/2009)
I don't get any of this "it won't touch" talk.
Delaying means they might be fine-tuning their modifications so that it definitely beats the cars in question.
The cars mentioned are definitely better value, but nothing is untouchable. Cars are made of parts.
I'm not saying it will be faster, just that we don't know much.
audi_arena 2:37PM (9/18/2009)
This car pretty much sums up why I consider Japenese sports cars to be a joke: They have been developing it for YEARS on the Nurburgring, yet it has gotten its ass handed to it by a bunch of VW hatchbacks every time it competes.
Dumbass fanboys may like it, but men who appreciate a real commitment to engineering and craftmanship will see it for what it really is: A big company with a lot of money and not a clue.
BigMcLargeHuge 3:18PM (9/18/2009)
Audi_arena,
You win the dumbass fanboy comment of the day award.
If you don't like Toyota that's fine, but you're just trolling.
Some people don't give a crap if its German or Japanese. Doesn't matter how long it takes them, or what company it comes from, or what continent, so long as the end product is a good car.
