Frankfurt 2009: 2011 Bentley Mulsanne looks better in blue

So far, we've only seen the one champagne-colored Bentley Mulsanne. While not our first choice, it's the shade Bentley thought would drum up the most interest amongst potential customers. Not knowing too much about how the mega-wealthy think, we'll trust Bentley. However, us plebes ain't been too pleased with the Mulsanne in the looks department. Until now. We think the blue (one of 126 standard colors) helps tremendously. We know there will be disagreement on the matter, but let us remind you of one thing: 752 lb-ft of torque at 1,800 rpm.

I didn't think it looked that bad in the other color either. The blue does look nice though. It is quite the stately car that has presence and commands attention without being ostentatious.

don't know which copyed which, but it it looks like a 4 door Brooklands, one of the 5 most beautiful coupes ever made (which happens to have 775 lb.o f tourque) so what if it has a carbon footprint the size of Peru

I am in love with this car.
I hated the first spyshots but damn, this thing has got the look.

I'd be afraid to accelerate hard in this for fear of tearing off the face of the earth.

This is the sort of car I would like to drive over an eco politicians foot and sneer at them in the process.

I hate to sound like an elitist but that's just not enough power. The 2010 Maybach Zeppelin thing is supposed to have 640 isn't it? The new and cheaper Rolls Ghost has 563, and Bentley's own Flying Spur puts out 551 in REGULAR form, much less the 600 hp Speed.
Power isn't everything in a vehicle like this, but more is always better when you're trying to be the best.
Otherwise I think they've done a good job. Mulsanne T anyone?

752 lb-ft at 1800 rpm.
I'll repeat that. 752 lb-ft at 1800 rpm.

@Sean Flanagan
Thank you!!!
This is not a 3,000lbs Ferrari... what's the use of having a high hp and high revving engine?
Big and heavy cars need torque, and this one has 752lb-ft @ 1800RPM!!!

Exactly!!

AMG's V-12 in certain Maybachs puts out 739 lb-ft @ 2000 rpm, so this isn't like a whole new world. Even Bentley's Brooklands puts out 774 lb-ft.
I know it's not hugely important in a Rolls but in a Bentley it just seems important.

The front of this car looks like a sadistic maniac! Blue makes no difference
Think "The Car" movie....

All these great photos of the exterior and yet, not a single pic of the interior posted anywhere on any site. Why?

Ahhh - wonder how I missed those pix...

The front is awful. I might be in the minority here, but I don't care how well it drives, because for that kind of cash it needs to be perfect. But I suppose it does always come down to personal taste, preference, and opinion; even though I still think you're wrong if you like the front end of this thing. Just forget that it's a Bentley for a moment and then look at that front end, especially those headlights. Awful kiddos, just awful.

Yes, it doesn't look quite as gawdawfully ugly as it did in the other color...
...in this color, it merely look like a fancy Dodge Charger.

It does look much better in blue indeed. But still not good enough for that kind of money. Even though... if i had to haul my rear in the back with my personal chaffeur, i wouldn't complain at all! The interior must be sexy.

Looks 1000x better. Kind of hides how big the headlights are.

It looks better, yes, but it doesn't fix the problem that is the size and placement of those lights in front. Thanks to that, it's still ugly.
