Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the microsite for the SLS AMG called "From the Ground Up," and it has all the information you need on gullwinged retro rocket from the space from to components to the magnesium backrests in the seats.

At the end of it all, there's a visualizer so you can start building the SLS you would will order when they go on sale in a little over a year, so start saving. We would say that the microsite will has enough info to keep you busy until the car shows up next year, but you won't have to wait that long -- we'll be bringing you even more info from its unveiling next week in Frankfurt. Hat tip to USB!

I dont know if its growing on me yet......I like it from some angles but its got a quirky shadow. Sounds like its a great driver's car though, which is something you can never have enough examples of

Do they tell you how to not make it ugly?
        thought of another one.

scrap it and sell the new Z4 instead. BMW clearly understands how to make a modern, beautiful, long bonnet sportscar.

God the thing looked better with camo on it. MP4-12C all the way
        • 5 Years Ago
@havoc - the New Z4? The one I commented on? I'm not a huge fan of the z3 or previous z4 but the new z4? much much better

One word can be used to describe this car: ugly.
tweak the red sliders lin lightroom to flatten out most of the car for starters?
@zamafir i think the z3 and z4 were some of the ugliest cars made. i like the aircraft carrier hoods and think the SLS is beautiful.

at least we can agree on the CR-V

Is this car made with any wood? Because looking at it sure has created a lot of wood in my pants. They could build a few with what I'm sporting.

      It's still hideous.
Does it tell me how I can afford it? Maybe a 30 year no interest payment option.

Usually I tend to agree with most of the "ugly" comments, but not this time. This is one of the best-looking Benzes I've seen in a long time. I look forward to seeing it in person.

wait... look at where that door handle is... it's down around your knees! Old people beware this is not a car for you. how will they ever close the door unless they're motorized... are they motorized? I don't see old folks being able to reach the door
to close it once seated in that low bucket seat.

      AC0,

You were right, we were playing on the site and it is awesome.
This car is hot, got to have it.
Can't wait to throw those gullwing doors up at the club.

whats with the obsession of long bonnets? to make up for short something?
It's the classic sports car style. Go back and look at the original 300SL or the old E-Types.

While I like it, all in all, the back end reminds me of something...oh, wait! How about the back end of my '98 Acura CL? It even has that vertical crease down the middle!
