Lamborghini Reventón Roadster - Click above for high-res image gallery

Looks like it'll be an all-out supercar showdown next week at the Frankfurt Motor Show. In addition to the McLaren MP4-12C and the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG – not to mention the Ferrari 458 ItaliaLamborghini will reportedly be showing off the roadster version of its million-plus dollar Reventón.

Sporting the same stealth fighter-inspired angular bodywork as the standard Reventón that was unveiled two years ago at the same auto show, the new topless Lambo will reportedly make use of its all-wheel drive system to help the run to 60 in just 3.4 seconds. Top speed is expected to be well over 200 miles per hour, as you'd expect from an Italian supercar with a mid-mounted 650-horsepower V12 powerplant.

Stay tuned for live shots and official details as the festivities in Frankfurt draw ever closer, but in the meantime, be sure to check out our gallery of images below. Thanks to everyone for the tips!

wow, this looks beyond amazing. because the regular Reventon was already amazing.

So much for "The horsepower battle is over, time to focus on efficiency."
Frankfurt has a truckload of super cars this year =S.
Actually, supercars are some of the most efficient cars in the world (certainly more so than the average hybrid or econobox). This is something that has always baffled me. Most cars let around 14 percent of the vehicles total energy just go to waste in the form of drag, engine friction, and general inefficiencies. Supercars cut off all the little inefficiencies and the result is amazing.

Plus I'd say this looks a little more aggressive than the new "aggressive" Prius.

I like it, but for a 1 million dollar car, it's underwhelming compared to the Aston Martin One-77.

this thing looks miles better than the aston

This car is gorgeous and awesome.
I agree with Javanese, why can't Lamborghini make a roof that works for this car?
I wonder if the roof is still a bitch to deal with...
its based off the murcielago...of course it is! but nobody cares cause if it might rain, take one of the other 50 or so cars you probably own if you can afford it.

Ah, a new iteration of the world's most expensive bodykit.

Yes, it looks amazing and goes like stink. But it's still a tycoon trap sort of car, when you can get an SV which is just as fast for less than half the money and, if you do need to get your head out in the sun, a Murcielago LP640 roadster, which is 95% of the performance for 25% of the price. Or you could buy 3 gallardos.

It's the sort of car that says "yes, I could have ended poverty in my hometown and still drive a lambo, but I would rather brag my wealth instead", and ultimately that's what kills it.

Love the engineering and style, hate the economics and artificial scarcity. Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Actually, to be honest I'm not even that much of a fan of the style, the F22 is an overpriced killing machine that brings absolutely nothing of good to the world, so I would rather have a lambo that looks like a lambo.

Yes, I'm getting older. Time to take down those posters I guess.

Lord Vader, your shuttle has arrived.

too big for my tastes but damn it looks good.

This would make me immediately reconsider my ordering a Bugatti Gran Sport and present a real dilemma. Hopefully I could afford both.

F*** the roof. Let's go Driving. Let the raindrops fall where they may.

      Pure car porn, brutal!
I would have thought this was the coolest car ever, when I was 13.

Now, it's just kind of embarrassing. Where Bugatti has gone elegant and insanely high performance, Lamborghini is pursuing the more-ducts-more-vents approach. It just needs a triplane style wing on the back to be complete. And maybe Knight Rider lights in front.
