eBay Find of the Day: Custom Ferrari... chopper?

When we think of a two-wheeled Ferrari, a stretched-out, chopper-style motorcycle isn't what naturally comes to mind. After all, the Italian supercars are known just as much for their ability to tear up the racetrack as the drag strip and choppers aren't exactly renowned for their handling prowess.
Still, we're all for freedom of expression and at least one enterprising motorcycle builder has decided to tackle the contradiction in terms that is a Ferrari chopper, as you can see with the machine above. There are apparently two such bikes in existence – the first may have been powered by an inline-triple from Triumph while the second uses an inline-four yanked from a Yamaha R1. Both cycles have been on the show circuit, featured all over the internet (including right here on Autoblog) and in print.
This auction recently ended, so if you're interested in taking home your very own Ferrari-branded custom chopper, you'll just have to wait for next time. Thanks for the tip, Avery!

These things are so contradictory by nature, it makes my brain hurt!!
For the record, none of such bikes can be a 'homage' to ferrari. Fat, heavy, underpowered two wheelers, handling like a canal boat, compared to cutting edge engineering perfection...
That's why I don't get such monstrosities. There was a 'bentley' chopper on here a while back, and I posted a similar comment there.
The only bike that could be a ferrari counterpart in bike world should be a ducati desmosedici or something along those lines. Exotic, hyperexpensive and cutting edge as well...

Still, pocketing 40.000 dollar for what is probably an amateur home built piece of middle aged fantasy is not that bad. If OCC is anything to go by, it was probably beat together with a hammer by an ape with a blowtorch. Very ferrari like.... NOT

So if I put a Ferrari decal on my wheelbarrow and paint it redder than it already is, it's "a custom Ferrari wheelbarrow"? Why do you people propagate such baloney?

Sad thing is that someone actually paid a guy to build this for them. Thing is just ugly and doesnt evoke any emotion of "Wow.. Ferrari if they did bikes!". Looks more like they took a bike, raked it and encased the engine in some fiberglass and after the paint slapped on some stickers and called it a day. Maybe a Ducati Monster with the Ferrari paint scheme and some added ponies would be more like it maybe? But yeah.. that poor guy and that boob jobbed Model can keep the thing. LoL

I dont think it looks horrible. I think people are being a little over the top here. They clearly took F1 parts to make the bike. of course F1 having nothing to do with a big heavy bike..but I gotta hand it to em integrating sidepods and the front nose as a gas tank.
