Updated 2010 Lexus LS sedan headed to Frankfurt

Following the leaked brochure revealing the entire revised Lexus LS range, a solitary image of the updated LS 600h L has popped up on the internet.
The revisions are fairly minimal, restricted primarily to new bumpers and lights front and rear, turning indicators integrated into the mirror housings and, of course, new wheels. There've been some modifications made to the interior as well, while the hybrid system on the top-of-the-line model shown has been optimized. The hybrid model has also been subtly visually distinguished from the conventional LS 460.
The image appears to confirm that Toyota's luxury division will be unveiling the new model at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show alongside the LF-Ch concept car, so we should be getting official confirmation along with more details and photos in the coming days.

LOL
It looks worse than the HYUNDAI EQUUS.
I guess the S550 is the undisputed king of style cause this P.O.S. ain't challenging nobody !

As the son of a 20+ year Lexus salesman, I agree that this model took a wrong turn in the design stage. Where's the swank, the fat cat, the low slung land shark, the grandeur?
This looks like the work of efficiency experts, especially the South Korean kind.
I rather enjoy the look of the current LS.

This car is SUPPOSED to look subdued. And it does that very well. The Lexus LS has never been a flashy car. It sells on other merits...
The Equus, on the other hand, is a totally different story. As far as I'm concerned, it looks better than the Lexus LS, Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7-Series.. Now the Jaguar XJ is a different story.. And I have a feeling the new Audi A8 will be as well...

@Bran
I think the regular LS will look almost identical to the current LS. This just looks like this because it's the LS600h so it seems like they gave it a more hybrid-y look or something (I don't really like it either).

How many headlights does it take to get to Frankfurt?
Tyler 9:48PM (9/02/2009)
Wow they made it cheaper looking than before, the current model is beautiful. It looks like a base model Toyota. What is up with all these strange designs coming from Japan lately, has anybody noticed that?

That front-grille looks like something you'd see on a base-model Mazda...

That grill is a copy from that ugly new Lexus Hybrid...
merlot066 3:51PM (9/02/2009)
I guess they're spreading the ugly silver plastic grille from their new hybrid (and the Avalon) to all their models.

Maybe Buick can beat Lexus after all. That thing has grandpa written all over it.

If my grandpa had one of these I'd be riding with him all the time.

Front end looks like a bigger Avalon. Is Toyota trying to turn Lexus into a Japanese Buick?

Lexus has had LED lights in the LS since 2004 (option). It became standard in 2005.
