Rendered Speculation: Volkswagen preparing Golf CC for Frankfurt?
Think the German auto industry is packed enough with segment-busting five-door whatchamacallits? Apparently the Germans don't, because they keep on rolling 'em out. With BMW showing its 5 Series GT and Audi unveiling the new A5 Sportback, Volkswagen may be joining the fray as well with a baby brother to the slick Passat CC based on the Golf. Although some reports suggest that Wolfsburg could be preparing to unveil the new Golf CC at the Frankfurt Motor Show, we'd be surprised if it were ready so soon. The five-door coupe/sedan/hatchback is expected to be based on the next-generation Golf VII, which isn't due until 2012 at the earliest.

..or the Jetta CC for the sedan happy USDM.
VWAG, just make sure not to copy Honda/Acura's formula for a (hideous) 4-5dr tall wagon/coupe/crossover thingamajig.

not as good as the CC but then the current front end looks better with the design aethetic than the new one doing away wit hthe gaping maw

agreed, I personally love the current Audi sized grill on the VWs. The Passat and Passat CC and even the Jetta, Toureg, Tiguan, and dare I say Touran all have this beautiful corporate face.
I'm not really looking forward to the face on the Mark VI Golf. not that it's bad, it's just not as good.

If you thought rear seat headroom was tight in the CC....
If this shares a body shell with the A3 sedan that some think is heading stateside, there may be a case for profitability here.
