Autoblog Video Exclusive: Bugatti Veyron joins Forza Motorsport 3

Exclusive footage of the Bugatti Veyron in Forza Motorsport 3 -- Click above to watch video
Forza Motorsport 3 developer Turn 10 Studios has decided to share some exclusive video footage with Autoblog (and our sister site Joystiq) that features one of our favorite cars: the Bugatti Veyron. When the game is released, you'll be able to take the wheel of the world's most expensive 'bug' without having to drop $1.6 million large. And of course, you'll get to customize it all you like. Take that, Sang Bleu...
Said Turn 10 head Dan Greenawalt, "Including the Veyron allows our fans and community to experience one of the world's rarest supercars at an unparalleled level of realism. Few people will ever get to see this car in person, let alone race or drive one, so the fact that we have it in Forza Motorsport 3 where it's fully drivable, tunable, paintable and even damageable is a very exciting concept to us. We hope our community shares that passion and enthusiasm!"
Damaging the Veyron in the game wouldn't be as bad as overcooking the real thing into the Armco, but we still recommend against it. However, having driven the thing twice, we can say that if you can get the actual Veyron to lay down rubber or drift through corners, then please give us a call – we have a trophy for you... Check out the video footage after the jump.

Dirt vs Forza vs Shft vs GT5
GT5 has best chances of winning.

I actually find Forza more compelling than the GT series. You can never break out the back end of a car in GT, even if you've modded a 1000-hp GTR. In Forza, the dynamics of the power delivery seem better - if you have a big-power RWD musclecar and hammer the throttle half-way through a corner, you'll be sideways on the other side, the way it should be. It seems like everything in GT is understeer.
Pokey 10:41AM (9/02/2009)
No, GT5 has the best chance of not hitting the stores until next year.

You were saying?

@akboss: Try turning on professional physics and turning off traction control completely as well as all the other driving aids. It should make rwd cars (and some awd ones like the GTR) more oversteer-happy. I don't know why, but GT4 and GT5:Prologue enables full driving aids and arcade physics by default, I guess to keep the casual gamers happy.
why not the LS2LS7? 12:50PM (9/02/2009)
Bizarrely, it appears GT5 will make it in stores this year.
All the info leaked seems to say it at least.
Sony are complete fools to hold up the GT5 release announcement until Tokyo Game Show. Many people have already pre-ordered and committed to Forza 3, Sony is going to have a tough time selling to those people.

GT is a PS3 exclusive and Forza Xbox, so no direct competiton (unless someone's lucky enough to have both systems).

GT5 supposedly has Top Gear track. I'll buy it for that reason alone.
Here I come-> 1.43 in a Liana

Plenty of people have both systems.

After playing the demo of Dirt 2, I won't be buying it. It's Grid on dirt, that's it. I'm not sure about Shift, NFS games usually suck ass, but Shift does look good. I'll probably rent it. GT5, Forza3 and GT PSP are definite purchases. Since I have both PS3 and 360, there is no reason at all to pass up both games.

Dirt vs Forza vs Shft are all aimed at different audiences. That being said I think FM3 has the best chance of making it big. NFS is coming off a pretty lack luster game from last year and Dirt while an amazing series isn't really as popular in NA as it the UK/Europe.

I don't play video games but that was very impressive.
Insanely beautiful.
The amount of work put into that was unbelievable.
It is almost real life, maybe even better in some respects.
I wonder if they had to tape up the mountains like they did the car? lol

and it still looks like arcade graphics compared to GT5. Some people might complain that a camera angles and scenery looks washed out or something in GT5, but that's because it's really how it looks in real life. In another games, ppl think things look real, just becasue the colour is more bright and vivid..just because someone made the colours pop out at you doesn't mean that it looks more like real life. Good effort by FM though to get the diverse cars in there. Something accomplished by GT years ago

Seriously, who cares? They are both great games.
But, if you want to get into "diverse cars", yes, GT has had a diverse selection of cars for years. Of course there are no Ferraris, but they do have 60 different Skylines!!!!!!
As far as looks, I would rather have a great gaming experience than slightly more realistic visuals. Being a fan of both, I will say that Forza has a better all around gaming, and better physics than GT. GT does look better though.
McBrainless 10:44AM (9/02/2009)
Right, even on car blogs the fanboyism is out...
Anyway, they are both great games. I must say that I prefer the feel of Forza. And ofcourse that GT don't have any Porsches on Lamobghini's (until the PSP ver.) so that's a little minus in my book. 50 different skylines and 47 different Supra's doesn't quite do it for me....
Serge 10:45AM (9/02/2009)
But GT5 has arcade physics compared to Forza... that should be more important than graphics in a driving simulation game. Besides, the graphics are still pretty amazing in Forza3.
Scooter 10:50AM (9/02/2009)
@Pokey WRONG. GT5 Prologue has Ferraris in it, as will the full GT5. Lamborghini's on board as well. Still no word about Porsche, but I'm fine with that.

Ummmm, you could just change the color/brightness/contrast on your tv instead of whining.
