Racer, skydiver, magazine editor, and Automotive Hall of Fame inductee but a smattering of accomplishments that Denise McCluggage has racked up during her tenure as one of the car-craziest people on the planet. For Episode #143 of the Autoblog Podcast, Denise takes time to join Chris, Sam and Dan to talk about current automotive news and answer some of your questions. We start off what turns out to be a record-length podcast with the news of a lawsuit against Toyota by one of its former lawyers, and move on to talk about the Hyundai Sonata Photochop that turned up in a dealer's ad showing a close approximation of the 2011 car. We wrap up by waving the diesel flag and talking about Ford's new Scorpion engine before taking a couple of questions and calling it a night just shy of the two-hour mark.

Check out the Adam Carolla Carcast if you like to listen to Podcasts about cars. The AB Podcast is cool but the Carolla one is great!

Mr. Carolla is offensive. I tried to listen and they immediately mocked service members in the Army by being amazed the government would let people "who barely graduated from high school" drive multi-million dollar tanks. Thanks, but no thanks to his brand of humor.

Denise added a lot to that Podcast. There is something awesome thinking about my Grandma being a race car driving car enthusiast. Keep up the great work guys! BTW you should try and get Jay Leno on for a podcast. I am sure he would like to promote his new show...

Guys -
I just got around to listening to this week's 'cast. I've got to say Denise was awesome! I have never heard a woman with so much insight into cars. Much less a mature woman like Denise. Like Scot said - a grandma that is into cars....so fun. I would love to sit and chat with her sometime; fascinating!
Thanks for the great show. We really do not expect you to go 90 minutes every week. ;)

Terrific podcast. It took me awhile to listen due to a busy week, but boy was it worth it. Denise was terrific. Clearly you guys are working out the issues of having a guest. She was more than prepared, but now it's the struggle with direction, i.e. helping move the conversation along. But, wow, she had so many nuggets of brilliance, experience and just plain fun.
I love your biases by the way. It's refreshing to hear positive comments about the US auto industry. I love Ferraris, BMWs, etc..., but in reality it's not what most of us can afford.
You pinpointed what I've been unable to for a long time, that Toyotas and Hondas are appliances. I had a Corolla and it was a piece of lifeless junk. Camries (plural of Camry?) pollute the landscape with their horrendous design and transform their drivers into zombies gobbling up the left lane. Oh, sorry, I'll stop the rant. Again, thanks for the clarity.
I really do love your podcast. I especially enjoy that I can listen to a liberal like Sam and enjoy him! ;-) Seriously, you guys are true professionals and do great work.
