European design students team up to dream up future Aston Martins [w/VIDEO]

The only restriction the instructors gave their students in their brief was that they had to use technologies that would be emerging onto the scene in the next five years. Otherwise, the sky was the limit, and the students came up with some intriguing and captivating designs. The IED pupils named their projects Luxury Cocoon Concept, Libido: Amore e Psiche, Gotha Concept, Pt220609, Symbiosis, Aston Martin Vestige, Aston Martin Sattva and Elate, and you can check them all out in the gallery below and in the videos posted after the jump.

Well that or Libido, but they both kinda look the same and are the closest to kinda almost remind me of Aston's

These are horrible, they could represent ANY brand. Aston makes the best looking cars in the world (IMO) and these share none of the styling cues of current Astons or from the historic lineage
1. They dont look like Astons

Agreed, and 2025 is too close for such outlandish, nonfunctional designs.
The students just had fun with doing whatever and pasting an Aston badge onto it.

Call me crazy, but so many 2025+ concepts look the same. And besides the hood emblem and gap below it, I don't see many Aston Martin cues...

Libido is the only that could actually be from AM at some point.

Most of these designs, while not very usable as cars (where are the LXC's side windows?), are still great in a sculptural sense.
They're just not Aston Martins.

i agree... all the "concepts" look the same and they're all ugly. this one looks just like that Mazda thing without all the swoops.

Hmmm, in general these are all pretty bad failures at a "concept Aston Martin". One of them looks more like a Jag XJ220 than anything (OH! it even has 220 in the name.... PT220609)
Now i'm no artist, and couldn't even draw the ugliest of these, but none of these are Astons. When did "concept design" turn into "what's the most outlandish looking thing we can make?". The Audi TT looks very similar to it's concepts, and while the original TT was an "outside of the box" design, which is what made it so memorable, it was a solid, realistic design. Most of these concepts look like someone was trying to create props for the next Batman movie.

The libido is the only one that uses anything that slightly resembles aston styling (the hood and back end); to bad the rest of it looks like some kind of mask that a video game villain would wear.

Libido is the best and most Aston like. The other cars, especially Gotha, Elate and Symbiosis are pretty impractical and--worse--not Astons at all.

Its a joke, mere publicity, there is no seriousness shown towards the project,
there is nothing in here that even comes close to the actual brief, looks like things were rushed, and nobody had a clue of whats going about, the students seem to have potential when it comes to visualizing their design over mediums but with no guidance over direction, i would blame the schools inadequacy , in their efforts towards maturing students’ potential.
