VIDEO: Comically overpowered Honda CBR 900RR go kart gets all drifty

Honda CBR 900RR-powered go kart - Click above to watch the video after the break
Go karts, when properly built and set up, can be some of the most exhilarating rides on four wheels and, in many cases, just about the fastest way to get around smaller race tracks. There's also something oddly enjoyable about piloting a fire-breather with your hindquarters mere inches from the tarmac.
That said, the petrolhead in us says, "If go karts are good, more power ought to make them even better." Sound familiar to you? If so, you'll definitely want to click past the jump to watch a video of a certain Honda CBR 900RR-powered go kart fishtailing its way all over a number of inappropriate settings. Suffice it to say that 'oversteer' would be an understatement of epic proportions. Looks like fun, but a helmet and a living will would probably be very sound investments. Thanks for the tip, Robin and The Auto Insider!

BTDT got the T shirt. Hayabusa powered carts are so last year.
Got anything new?

There's no acronym for how loud I just laughed! Maybe "LSFLIALAL" "Laughed So F'n Loud I Almost Lost A Lung" :)

Sounds like you're jealous.

Something about a company that cannot use "you're" properly, and speeds around public streets on a go cart (helmetless) sideways says to me......

That they are idiots.

This is easily the most moronic thing I've seen all month. No helmet, surrounded by hard obstacles? That's just the intro to a snuff film.
Neat kart but take it to damn parking lot, at least, if you can't enjoy a track.

The best part is that he's drifting in the oncoming traffic lane...and it's not like the road is blocked off, you see a pickup truck drive down that lane.
Seriously I hope this guy has his organ donor card all filled out because this is almost guaranteed roadkill.

he's from Florida, nobody wears helmets down there.

Why? I say it's natural selection if he flips that thing. They didn't even fab some sort of roll bar, and it doesn't look like they've fitted so much as a lap belt. Yeah, I'm totally going to them for my fabrication needs, I'd love to get a half-assed go-kart!!

Give your money away, give me 100 dollars.
don't tell other people what to do like a democrat facist.

Helmet!!!
I love driving so much that I ALWAYS where eye protection when mowing the lawn or doing anything that causes specs to fly at me. I don't want to lose my eyes and not be able to enjoy the pleasures of speed.
How can you drive so exposed like that without a helmet and still consider yourself an enthusiast?

Maybe they should add some extra wheels at the back for traction... make it like a dually truck. :D

That thing makes an AC Cobra look downright safe! I can't begin to calculate how many ways that guy could have been killed during the making of that video.
