Leaked Lexus brochure reveals updated LS sedan
To say that Lexus designs tend more toward the "evolutionary" than "revolutionary" would be like saying that Rasputin had a bit of a violent streak. Case in point: The new LS sedan, which the Toyota luxury division has apparently updated for next year in typical Lexus style. That is, incrementally different from the model it replaces, with styling tweaks barely visible to the naked eye. At least, not at first glance.
Early images of the redesigned flagship sedan come courtesy of The Lexus Enthusiast, which has managed to get hold of what looks to be a leaked JDM brochure for the vehicle ahead of its official launch. Visible changes made to the LS 460 and the gas-electric LS 600h include new front and rear bumpers and lights, turn signals integrated into the mirror housings, and of course, new wheels.
Inside, the cabin gets a mild refresh as well to integrate a night vision system into the instrument cluster, right in the middle of the speedo. There's also a customization program called L-Select, and the anticipated LS-Sport "Version SZ", characterized as an aggressive take on the luxury yacht with a more assertive aero package, wheels and grille treatment. That's about all we've got for now, but you can check out the scanned brochure in the gallery below.

They definitely know how to steal marketshare from BMW and Mercedes by making the rear end look more like Toyota Camry than ever.

So what? Mercedes has been evolutionary rather than revolutionary for decades. If you keep changing from a new design it kills the older ones. Makes customers unhappy. Of course it worked for GM for 60 years...planned obsolescence IIRC. LOL!

If you mistake this for a Camry your a idiot. Period.

Couldn't agree with you more! The first thought I had after looking at the taillights was, "Whoa, there's a lot Camry in that design". I'm sure the car itself will be top-notch, especially the interior, but it would've been nice to see a less conservative design. A shame for sure.
@TigerMil Definitely agree about Mercedes being evolutionary, but seriously, I'd much rather have the back of my LS look like a Camry than having a C-class with those nasty taillights. On the other hand, the S-class design is full of awesome...

Oh, the irony.

Since all Lexuses were sold as Toyotas in Japan until very recently, most people there are used to their luxury cars being Toyotas.
So having a family resemblance to the Camry isn't necessarily a negative there.

The changes are very subtle except for that one picture of the black and white interior. To those who "yawn" at this vehicle, you're doing exactly what you're supposed to be doing. It's not supposed to be exciting. It's a car that you can ultimately relax in. Lexus achieved their goal 100% with the Lexus LS.. And sales certainly go to show it...

Toyota is really good at making boring looking cars.

I think it looks very smooth and elegant.
Boring is a Chevy Aveo...thatss boring this is not.

@JDM - I certainly wouldn't mind being driven around in an LS460l. That's for sure.

A car should reflect the people that buy/drive it...and Lexus and Toyota have mastered the design for the dull conformist masses lined up inside Starbucks and organic stores to pay extra for the privilege. Another success!

It funny to see people who think they know every about everyone just because of what they believe.
Hilarious

Shawn pointed out every person's thought. I have to agree with him though. That is a nomination for COTD.

Yeah because I see LS460's all the time at Starbucks? Someone needs a reality check.

Nobody's commenting that there's a guy (or website?) called The Lexus Enthusiast? That's much more surprising than the facelift...
