Talk About Bad Brakes - click above image for high-res gallery

There's surprisingly little to say here. "D'oh!" comes to mind, as does "Epic Fail." A picture of a spazzed out cat captioned with, "I can haz brakes?" would also work. As would a photo of Jill Wagner getting a tetanus shot. Other than that, um, you would think someone would have noticed something before it got this bad, right?

We've heard about wearing 'em down to the rotors, but this is just silly. And for all you heroic defenders of the mighty Panther platform about to come out of the woodwork, we agree – it's probably an aberration. But still... yeesh. Thanks to VW Vortex forum member barry2952 and the Gluckster for the tip!

      Could that be Matt's car?

I think this just proves that the panther is mightier than cast iron. I'd say it looks like it is just starting to get broken in, and ready for another 500k.

      @ Tony:

I Don't need a Funnybone Transplant, i'm just superised he could stop with those rotors! Although I heard this is the Test Mule for Ford's New Invisi-Rotors, and Super Extra Quiet Pads! "Rear Brakes so Quiet, You'd think they weren't even there!"
It is a stuck calliper that failed to slide when the brakes were pressed. The outside pad is fine, the inside pad was the working pad, and wore down quicker.

The inside pad wore down until it was metal on metal.

This is why the outside pad is fine and the rotor on the other side is fine.

On a related note, Jill Wagner has been posting pictures of herself in a bikini on her Twitter account. She's on vacation in Hawaii.

See, Twitter is useful after all!

I think I just became a fan of twitter.

My sister managed to do the same thing to the rear breaks on her Altima. It is from ignoring the squealing breaks until they stop making noise. Somehow the front breaks had enough pad and rotor to stop the car. The only way I found the problem was when I was changing a flat for her.
Probably didn't hear the noise over the rumble of that side-exit exhaust....
      Fake. See right side rotors...
Did you ever think that the right rotor was put on before the left!?!?!?
Evidently not! Good point, but still odd there are not more photos of the right...
Not fake, Northeast car. Plows push to the left, more sand and salt. Left side wears out faster.
it really is that bad. I have welded a 22 year old car, not just rotors replaced , the whole left underside. I have taken rotors to the ribs, and chunks, I still think there is a chemistry helping it along once and awhile, not just common sense stuff, I mean catalyst of something incredible. It is rare, but does happen. Good rotors to suddenly bad. Look at the pads on this car....Hmmmm.
Look, glass brakes. Thats just nuts.
I have a hunch this car spent some time at least partially underwater...

This is the ultra rare test mule for Ford's revolutionary Ring Brakes... 80% lighter than disc brakes.
Looks like something Audi'd dream up.

Remember the UFO brakes? Maybe not.

"Always looking to complain and run up numbers, AB. Gotta keep those advertisers happy! ("look how many people posted!") You know _Rusted Mercury Gran Marquis Brakes_ stories get people to post lots of comments, so AB is just stoking the trolls to come out."

      Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
