One of three "Barricade" Saleen Mustangs produced for Transformers – Click above for gallery

For better or worse, not all of us can be Sam Witwicky, swapping spit with Megan Fox and attempting to foil galactic evil robots taking the form of common automobiles. But then, there's nothing common about this particular automobile. It's the actual Saleen Mustang that played the part of Barricade from the first Transformers movie. And one lucky collector just got his hands on it.

One of only three made, this 2005 Mustang was built specially by Saleen and further outfitted by the props gurus at DreamWorks SKG for the film. The car started life as a Saleen S281 Extreme, with a 4.6-liter V8 and five-speed shifter, before being turned into the rolling Decepticon, for which the studio added a push bar, emergency light kit, white doors and decals aplenty. With only 4,550 miles on the odometer, minimal wear and tear, and unsurpassed bragging rights, bidding started on the Barricade Saleen at $1000 and the car sold at $36k – a far cry from the $100,000 - $300,000 declared estimated value, but still a fair few pennies more than the Bumblebee edition Camaro.

Rumor is that the ford mustang known as barricade #2 from the movie transformers has recently sold for an undisclosed amount.Barricade #2 has been living on the east coast for the last few years. Barricades new home is said to be located in the midwest in a private car collection

I'm guessing it's not street legal, which would kinda defeat the purpose for me. I'm not a Transformers fanatic though, so maybe I just don't get it

That's a killer deal, the person that bought it could makes some money and rent it out. How cool would it be to see outside a store.

It's not an extreme, it's a non-supercharged Saleen with the "extreme package" an appearance package. Also real extremes are six speeds with transmissions from vipers this has a 5 speed.

A real Saleen extreme has never sold below 32k.

Wow I just realized that it's not even really 36K...it went for $30K plus a $6K buyers premium...so the seller only got 30K for this car...man...

Not street legal with the police stuff on it.

Still--replace the decals with some other text and it will still look "official" from a distance. Are private cars allowed to have light bars?

That'd be so awesome if a local PD picked this up. I'd flip if I saw Barricade chasing me down. Especially if I drove a Camaro.

Holy crap, regular Mustang GTs aren't much cheaper than that, and none of them look nearly as cool. Someone got one heck of a steal.
