Autoblog Podcast #140
Episode #140 of the Autoblog Podcast is going to just squeak under the wire for the weekend. It's late, and we're going to blame the new guy. Jonny Lieberman joined Chris and Dan for a few moments between bouts of Skype-drop-itis, and the trio started off blithely to discuss the Autoblog Garage and then the Ferrari 458 Italia before giving up on J-Leib for the night. Down a man, Chris and Dan carry on and cover the Cadillac ATS and XTS, along with the Chevrolet Volt's controversial 230 MPG city rating. In between, of course, is plenty of Autoblog inside baseball, including an especially good tangent where Shunk starts psychoanalyzing the team. We cap it off by answering a bunch of questions, and that's it. At least there's value there, as we continue for 80 minutes. Let us know what you think by sending a note to Podcast at Autoblog Dot Com, or hit up our survey, and iTunes users can also leave reviews at the Autoblog Podcast iTunes page. Thanks for listening, we'll see you again early next week!

It's bad - not sure what hardware he's using, but we'll have to bring him up to speed...

Having had a 09 Civic Hybrid for 6 months, I agree with Johnny in that driving a slow car fast is fun, but only until you realize that you've just managed to make your hybrid average 36mpg.

i honestly haven't driven a 128 but the 135 is a blast
it seems to rotate around the rear of the car, feels smaller than it is at lower speeds

Great job as always guys. And as a side note, Sam A.'s interview on G4 was great -- but as usual the hosts try to control everything.
Keep them coming guys!

For the last e-mailer, the mercury Sable 3.0 SOHC are the the ones with the head gasket problems. The DOHC was a pretty mechanically sound, but they shared the same transmission. IMHO I rather drive a beat up LS any day over a Sable.

Actually there never was a Sable with a SOHC. your thinking of the 3.8 Essex that was on the gen 1 and 2 sable/taurus, they were notorious for blowing head gaskets.
Thanks for getting to my question guys sorry for the long email.

So the Ferrari 458 looks like a salamander with its pants around its ankles?

friend of mine had a last gen probe
for a couple hundred bucks, imported a jdm mx6 gt engine when the engine blew
so much fun, till some 16 year old in a civic with no insurance rear-ended it to death

Great job as always with the podcast. Don't let the problems with Jonny's audio keep you from rotating more of the team thru the show.

You can make the argument that driving a slow car fast is more fun than driving a fast car slow, but why not drive a fast car.... fast. Driving around town in 3rd and 4th in my z is torque bliss.

This comment is a little late, but you guys have to straighten this Jonny guy out. First off, it is so irresponsible for him to say that a Nissan Versa is more "sporting" and "fun" to drive than a 370Z. Really, he needs to handle himself as a professional and keep in mind that, like you mentioned in the podcast, the more serious Autoblog followers are listening. Autoblog has egg on its face for that comment. This shooting-from-the-hip commentary doesn't fly here.
Secondly, who really cares what this guy's suicidal tendencies are around a golf course. What kind of value does that bring to the conversation other than insulting your listeners who golf? Grow up Jonny! And by the way....you spell your name wrong!
