VIDEO: 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo takes to the streets
Ah yes. Now that you've read the press release on the new and improved 2010 Porsche Turbo, wouldn't you like to watch the video press release? Sure you would! Warning: if Claude Lelouch's C'était un Rendezvous is the automotive video equivalent of bacon wrapped pate de foie gras, the three videos we got after the jump are a rice cake, a sprig of parsley and a can of Tab, respectively. Still, they are videos of the new 997.5 Turbo and in one of them the car is actually moving. That's got to count for something, right?

Oh Porsche, you don't have to go out on the streets to make us like you. We already do! Now come back inside, stop whoring yourself out, and let me drive you.

one thing i like about the 911 design is the rear.. good form, nice looking hips.. without being too overboard (a la panamera)

Yah, I know this is merely a refresh but I was really hoping they would get rid of those whiskers, overall, nice looking car.

I know Porsche's don't actually change drastically in design year to year, but other than for the addition of the fog lights to the sides, what else is different with this 2010?

Direct injection and PDK.
Since they never change the design drastically, Porsche 'facelifts' are usually more like internal surgeries.

the fog lights are in the same position as last year, but now appear to be LED.
The tail lights are LED now, too.
New wheels, Center-lock on the yellow coupe.
New dual-projector headlights (I actually like the previous ones...)
The LED signals, and the bodywork is all the same.
Plus whatever has been done under the skin...
BTW, that dark gray with red interior is a very handsome color combo... Better than the harsh yellow, but I am not a fan of yellow, by and large.

Don't forget the increased power (due in part to a larger engine). This is 500HP. The previous model was 480HP.

If only the priced stayed the same like the looks. From like the 70s lol!

All these comments from the last post and nobody lamented the demise of the old racing derived 3.6, now replaced here by the less-exotic and lower cost single casting engine block used in the balance more plebian (if one would refer to a Boxster or Carrerra S as plebian) flat six applications. The old racing engine only lives on in the GT3, for now.

I noticed that too. It now has an "integrated" dry sump instead of a true one. I don't know if it's such a big deal to go for the regular engine, but they did. Perhaps they wanted to hardcore enthusiast attributes left to the GT cars, and leave the turbo as the GT car.

i'm curious if the new 3.8l can be bored out to 4.0l , that would give the tuners something to play with.

This Porsche is very different from the Older ones..
A New Engine - 3.8 Liters - 500HP
Direct Injection
PDK - 7 Speed will propel this Monster to 60 in 3.1 SECONDS!!!!!
2 Differentials - One for front and 1 for back, is STANDARD now.
Is Rear Biased, so its a lot more fun driving it..
I dont care about the cosmetic differences.. I always loved the way Porsche looked,
For a mid Year Revision, this is INSANE!!!! Costs twice more than a GTR, but I'd sell my wife to get one of this!!!!

The Beetle looks ok.
Is there a fog light delete option?
Those things look terrible.
I saw a 911 at the dealership that had the most beautiful color combination I have ever seen. I call it the M&M Porsche. It is a cream white color (Get an pack of Almond M&M's, it is the color of the wrapper) and it had a chocolate brown interior and a chocolate brown top. Definition of a delicious looking car.
