Tesla Roadster - Click above image for high-res gallery

Remember Martin Eberhard's custom rapid charger for the Tesla Roadster? It's now being manufactured and is available for order from EV Components. Want one? First, you need a Tesla Roadster, naturally, and the standard MC120 charger that each and every one of the electric sportscars comes equipped with. Send the original unit along with $960 to EV Components, wait a couple of weeks and, presto!, A new charger will arrive at your doorstep via the friendly neighborhood Fedex delivery man.

The Roadster Foundry Mobile Connector comes with adapters that allow charging at 12, 16, 24, 32 or 40 amps. According to its maker, the RFMC allows even a fully depleted Tesla battery pack to recharge overnight when operating on 40 amps. Want to know more? Click here. Thanks for the tip, James!

Ooh, and with a liquid fueled car, you can fill it up from zero, in mere minutes, and not pay $960 for the capability.
Well you will pay 5 times more for that liquid and you can't get it from every buiding on the planet.

How difficult is it to convert 230v to 440v?

How do you charge your car in the meantime? Do you have to buy an extra charger just for two weeks?
We can provide overnight shipping so you are only missing a charger for two days.

I saw it last weekend at our shop in Lacey, WA..... its a VERY HEFTY connection from wall to Tesla..... it makes the standard one (included with the Tesla) look like a piece of spaghetti.

Will the ETEC charger (grantwinner in AZ) charge a Tesla?

I guess I just have a crappy house, but I only have 40 Amp service to the breaker. Plugging this thing in brings to mind the scene from "Christmas Vacation" where the power plant needs to turn on the Emergency Nuclear Power...

Maybe it's 100, something makes me think it's 40 though...
