VIDEO: Climb Attack with Rhys Millen and the Hyundai Genesis Coupe

Click the image above to view the video after the jump
Yesterday we saw the raw, in-car footage of Rhys Millen's assault on Pikes Peak behind the wheel of his Time Attack-prepped Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Today, we finally get the edited eye-full entitled "Climb Attack," stitching together Millen's 2WD record-setting run into a high-definition, artfully-crafted three-minute flick. Make the jump to check it out, and we'd recommend a set of headphones to get the full-on sensory experience.

I still find it pretty amazing that Hyundai set the record here, being relatively new to the competition and with a very new car. Kudos to those Koreans!

All about the team!

They won their class in 1992 with the Scoupe Turbo, so this is more like a return to glory.

Amazing run in a 2WD vehicle on the different surfaces with just one set of tires to handle it all!

That was very artistically done, nice racing for the team. Good stuff with the record.

very nicely done video. It's impressive what theyve been able to do with this car in such a short time.

I have to say Hyundai has really stepped it up in recent years. Awesome driving by Rhys Millen too!

Much better production than the Gronholm video.

Make sure you watch the HD version, dim the lights, and turn up the sound.

The other video was better. This one is too disjointed due to all the jump cuts. They have some nice shots in there, but they need to restrain themselves more when it comes to switching between them.
As is, you don't even get a feel of the car progressing up the mountain (perhaps because virtually the entire part of the run below the treeline is removed).

As always great work on the video Will. StreetFire was silly for letting you go.

I'm glad that this video doesn't have any crappy song. Just the sound of the engine revving is music to my ears.

WTF has this got to do with GREEN??
There was actually an EV in the race to the clouds which beat the previous EV record by 30 seconds.

This isn't autobloggreen. You're confused.
That is a good time for that EV. And on only 15kWh, which is half a gallon of gas energy equivalent.
