Suzuki Kizashi shows up a day before official unveiling
Production Suzuki Kizashi – Click above for high-res image gallery
Suzuki has a big media event planned tomorrow to unveil its new mid-size sedan, which we're all still calling Kizashi though no moniker has been made official. We'll be at that event tomorrow, but apparently the Kizashi has already begun mingling. Assuming these shots aren't from the future, Suzuki held another event at some point, somewhere that featured the new Kizashi as the guest of honor.
As you'll recall, the production Kizashi's design is based largely on a trio of Kizashi concepts that made the auto show circuit rounds last year. The latest was the Kizashi 3 unveiled at the 2008 New York Auto Show. The production model is mightily toned down compared to the testosterone-infused concept, but still handsome, especially the sporty model in brown. We'll leave any more judgments aside until we meet the production Kizashi in person tomorrow, but you can view some more early images in the gallery below.

not necessarily a bad thing...

drop this body on a Jett and the Jetta would finally return to looking good
I thought from the concept this was going to be a Camry/Acord fighter, but it's just a Carolla fighter?

@Ligor
You mentioned 4 cars, and managed to misspell 3 of them..lol

if only the Jetta looked this good.
If it is Jetta sized, I'll definitely look at it, unfortunately, Suzukis are usually heavy and lukewarm handling.
We'll all have to wait and see what kind of benchmark they hit.
Personally I'm all for the style. interesting blend and the sport version is pretty nice.

I am extremely saddened by the production version of this car. The concept was beautiful. This is a melted Jetta turd in comparison.

Looks like a less feminine Jetta that will actually be fun to drive. Didn't Jeremy Clarkson say taking public transportation was more fun than having to drive a Jetta? I do believe he almost died from boredom having to review the thing.
Then again, I'd take a Suzuki over a SheW any day...

lol by the looks of it, in that post pic the film crew doesn't care.

Guess you did not look at the photos, there are 2 Kizashi in the photos, the film crew are looking at the teal/silver one..

It looks pretty good, a bit dated, and the headlights are bigger and less sharp then I expected, but overall it's a good looking car.

As did I. :(
Considering Suzuki's weak position in the market I think they needed to make the car much more bold....from the concepts I thought they were of the same frame of mind.....clearly not. *sigh*

It's odd when you look at the grill...the Suzuki logo just doesn't fit on the car. It looks as if this is was another car badged as a Suzuki

It looks like a Chevy grill perhaps?
Redline 4:50PM (7/29/2009)
Or make that a VW grill crossed with a Chevy grill.
Level 4:39PM (7/29/2009)
looks ok nothing to brag about...now the concept Kizashi 3 version however was def on point with the headlights the stance the front grill....the production version looks like a over grown SX4...

Exactly what I was thinking. I don't know why they bothered doing 2 years of development, they just ended up making something that looks exactly like a car they're already making.
Anyway, the first concept was the best looking of all in my opinion. Then they went crazy on the second and third and when came the time to make the production they looked around the showroom and thought, hummm, that SX4 looks good, maybe we can fool people by making it a tad bigger and calling it the same thing as our concept.
Anyway, I don't think I'd buy it even though it would look like the first concept, that's far to big for my liking.
