Autoblog Podcast #138
Episode #138 of the Autoblog Podcast is here. Chris, Sam, and Dan take the 'cast meta for a moment and discuss the freshly-minted Autoblog 4.0, as well as the arrival of ace scribe Jonny Lieberman to the Autoblog Team. Once we're done navel-gazing, we talk over the Wiedeking departure from Porsche, the new role for Bob Lutz, and what it might mean for General Motors' marketing, the speculation about a Lexus competitor for the A3/1-Series, an excuse for Mercury's continued existance, and the rumors of a Prius Coupe. It wraps up with a question and a comment, and that's it, nice and tidy. Thanks for all the response so far to our survey, and iTunes users can submit reviews of our work at the Autoblog Podcast iTunes page, too. We're always reachable at Podcast at Autoblog Dot Com, too. See you next week!

HEY, I AM 14 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE BEEN SAVING UP TO BUY A MUSTANG GT SINCE I WAS LIKE 10, IVE ALWAYS LOVED THEM, BUT I ALSO NO THAT YOUNG KID, AND MUSTANG MAKE INSURANCE GO THROUGH THE ROOF, SO IF I WERE TO BUY A MUSTANG, WHAT WOULD BRING THE COST OF INSURANCE DOWN. AND IF I CAN'T GET A MUSTANG, I WAS THINKING OF A USED CROWN VICTORIA POLICE INTERCEPTOR, CAUSE ITS BASICLY THE SAME ENGINE, IS IT A GOOD IDEA?

Can't get enough of those caps, can ya?

the only way for you to get affordable insurance as a teenage male with a Mustang is to go for a V6 and wait until you're in your 20s for a GT. Insurance rates drop significantly after 25. A long time to wait, I know. There's at least the Terrafugia Mustang that's a hot rodded V6.
Used cop car is a *BAD* idea. Used cop cars are used up. They need *everything* and the Panther platform is entirely unpleasant.

Ok, thanks but what if i get a really cheap v6 mustang, and drop a v8 in it, same size as that model years v8 would be, would the insurance go up with the upgrade? p.s, just for Taglane, i didnt write in all caps.

What was the deal with the Dan's crappy audio through-out the podcast? I can't usually take his winey complaining about everything, but add the some sort of techie audio fublery and the whole thing become un-listenable.

Joe, can you elaborate on the audio problem you're hearing? Last week, on Podcast 137, I did have an issue, but as far as I can tell, everyone sounds fine on 138. I'd be much appreciative if you could explain a little more. Thx -
Dan

The audio sounded sped up. It's just a little odd. Just finished listening. Great content.

Just want to drop by and say thanks for the excellent show (and blog in general). I started to fill out the survey, but sorry, it got boring a bit too quick, I'll come back and try to tackle it maybe in the evening.
Because I'm living in Korea where obviously, Hyundai and Kia just dominate the roads, its hard for me to see how far the US makes have come (or, come back). Because of huge import tax, you can see lots of BMWs and Lexuses, but not many GMs or Fords. I guess people feel a lot more comfortable over-paying for luxo makes, rather than over-paying for GMs and Fords.
Anyway, I've only started listening in since half a dozen episodes back, so I'm on board now.
Thanks for the great show~!
