Beijing mall builds its own Transformer out of VW Jetta

We know the Chinese love their Transformers – or perhaps it's just Bumblebee. To promote its new movie theater, a mall in China created its own Transformer out of a Volkswagen Jetta. The best part about the sculpture is that it hasn't been painted to look like Bumblebee, and it's been posed in a way that makes it look like it's either speed skating, or finishing up a dance number, or doing aerobics. Oh, and it has no head. But it's still cool, and you can check it out in the gallery of high-res photos below.

Uh, since when did the Jettas have those big honkin' leaf springs?

Perhaps it is the Chery "Jerta"... nothing like any other car, ever! we swear!

So, which version of the Jetta uses leaf springs? Look at image #4. Maybe it's some odd, China-only version, but I doubt it. Usually, there are still somewhat reated to the original platform.
There's probably more, but that was the first thing that popped out at me.

it has no head, thus effectively making it un-cool.

Never mind the sculpture, check out those resident buildings in the background. They look like they're about to fall apart! Frightening!

I think those A/C units are kinda messing with your eyes. Buildings seem to be in good shape.

That's not a Jetta at all, maybe a 90's Passat

In a city of close to 15 million people the fact the only a handful of people are looking at it in the pic should say something.

Wow. Even China's Transformers are crappy versions of what the rest of the world has...
Well, thanks for the cash to keep our government afloat though, lol! :)

Fail, in so many ways...BTW, is it me or does the sun never shine in China? Anytime I see photos from there, it always seems like it's overcast. Is it due to the massive air pollution?

I was in Beijing and in Zhengzhou and it was kind of funny when I arrived the local that was supposed to pick me up said "You are very lucky, today the sun is shining" and it was exactly like in the pictures. Anyhow then I travelled to Xi'an and there it was really very beautiful and you could actually see the blue sky and some trees and stuff, you know.

It'd be nice to see them use some of their time and ingenuity to clean up all that damn smog. Just look at how bad it is in these pictures.
