Rendered Speculation: BMW S.X. Concept

Looking at some of the controversial recent designs coming out of BMW, many enthusiasts might think that it's not hard to imagine that study hall doodles would be preferable. Not exactly a schoolboy anymore, Iulian Bumbu has applied skills learned at a Milanese automotive design program to a BMW etude.
The car looks like it could actually be possible, wearing design cues that echo the recently redone Z4. The renderings call to mind the recently scuttled Concept CS from BMW's own pens, depicting a car that's extra-wide, super-low, and ultra aggressive. In any case, BMW could do worse than this flight of fancy.

it's alright
that being said, alot of the new bmw models are just ugly to me but it is a good and well-engineered brand

I would have preferred something not a blatant rip-off of aston design language in the rear and rear 3/4.

this looks better than the Lamborghini Insecta he made some time ago , his skills are improving.

looks a lot like the GINA concept, except no cloth exoskeleton.

their former employees Bangle and Fisker definitely have rubbed off on them...

that grill is a direct rip off from mitsubishi eclipse

Grill kinda looks like a Fisker Karma to me.

yeah its looks like the One-77, but IMHO, it looks better. The Aston has too much going on up front. This is a much cleaner design that, while derivative, is pretty badass looking.

Just curious but why is it a bad thing for it look like an Aston, the hottest looking cars on the road. If they stuck with only BMW elements, it might look more original but certainly not better. If it looks good, it looks good. The kidney grill makes it unique enough anyway.

I thought the same thing, looked like a Aston with the exception of the front Grill.

I'll take it.

Hmmm this could be a direct response to the LF-A from Toyota/Lexus. A little friendly competition never hurt anyone. Especially the customer, Build it BMW!

It's a nice clean design, a bit derivative but sorry it's not a BMW.

Hmmm...the Italian-British influence in present. Fix the rear tail lights to not mimic the front lights of the current Nissan Z, fix the rear pillars and I think you'll have yourself a winner.
Is this a possible contender to the 8-series coupe? And I wish they hadn't axed the CS concept.
At any rate, this design is just too good looking to be a BMW. ;)

The front -- the lights and the flaring of the bonnet -- reminds me of the Maserati GranTurismo.

Looks like the result of a threesome! BMW Concept CS, Aston Martin One-77 and Fisker Karma.
