Robbie Maddison is set to solidify his reputation as the World's Preeminent Daredevil Motorcyclist after performing a no-handed backwards flip over the Thames in London at 2:55 am on July 13th. Using the iconic Tower Bridge as his takeoff and landing points, the Australian rider performed the stunt with the bridge in its raised position about 100 feet above the water.
Maddison hit the jump at about 40 miles per hour and managed a picture-perfect landing on the other side. The 27-year-old rider currently holds the record for the longest ever ramp-to-ramp jump ever at just over 350 feet and the highest ever "step up" to the 96-foot-tall Arc de Triomphe at the Paris hotel in Las Vegas. Sweet shot but.... I think I'd sh*t a Miata if I did that!

Forget a Miata... I'd sh*t a Buick!

@ Randy and Farris. That was frickin' hilarious.

That had to be one of the most uneventful and suspenseful motorcycle stunts ever. 75% of the tricks done at the X-Games are more death defying than that. Not saying I can do it, but damn, being a daredevil must be easy right now if that's what you can get away with and still wowing an audience.

He competes in the X-games, also see his 350ft jump and 100ft step up jump in Vegas, they're pretty insane.
You know what they say about the best, they make everything look easy.

^^ Very true.
I blame the craziness you can pull off in a video game as the cause of real life tricks looking uneventful. haha

The difference is, the X-Game riders land on dirt, do this wrong he falls to his almost certain death 100 feet below assuming he doesn't nail the bridge on the way down.
That like saying I walked on sidewalk curbs all the time, when a daredevil walks along the roof edge of a 100 story skyscraper. The consequences make all the difference.

Guess you don't know who Robbie Madison is for a comment like that... Yes this was somewhat "blegh" but he has an Insane jump footage from Vegas.

Thats pretty sweet but if u think about it, its just as easy as doing tricks in the xgames, but the bridge makes it look more impressive

Yea, whatever, who hasn't done a backwards flip with no-hands over the Thames.

I love how some people have such a nonchalant attitude about stunts like this these days. Yes, of course there are more technically difficult stunts out there, but come on, he did a backflip over the friggin bridge! What does he need to do to impress some guys, the same trick while on fire and juggling chainsaws?

Nice!
I'm just waiting for the first person to come in here and proclaim "that's London Bridge, not the Tower Bridge, Autoblog FTL".
