VIDEO: Obligatory Michael Jackson Post - Rare Suzuki Love commercials

1982 Suzuki Love commercials featuring Michael Jackson -- Click above to watch the videos
Michael Jackson's memorial service is being held today in Los Angeles (apparently sponsored by local Land Rover dealers). For a reminder of who the man was pre-Thriller and where all of this got started, few things could be better than some Suzuki Love scooter commercials that MJ did in way back in 1982.
In trademark Japanese commercial fashion, the spots don't all make linear sense, but they are fun to watch and there's even a making-of film. Better yet, the advertisements end with a line Jackson would still approve of: "Love is my message." Follow the jump to watch the videos.

Gah, that third one is unbelievably difficult to watch. Someone needs to adjust the "tracking" on their VCR.

Wow, and I thought Autoblog readers were intelligent. I guess this was expected judging by all the other stupid comments made in posts about the deceased.

he was never convicted of any crime. i hope that if you are ever accused of something you get the same treatment he did.

Mehdi, he certainly was the king of popping pills. Indeed, he was a very talented musician, but are we really going to let that make us forget about all the children who's lives were permanently ruined by this sick pedophile?
See this excellent NY Post article for more on this: http://www.nypost.com/seven/07022009/news/columnists/shed_no_tears_for_this_twisted_sicko_177187.htm

Actually sites are obligated to state the facts. Molestation was never proven. They are only going to allow facts and not slander.
phooky 4:33PM (7/07/2009)
That is correct, I should not have used the word 'fact.' But you can hardly say it is slander. Slander is defined as [words falsely spoken that damage the reputation of another]. No way can you say that his pedophilia is patently false, especially after all those numerous allegations. However, you really believe that they should only allow comments that contain facts? The purpose of commenting is not to state facts, it is to state opinions.

So O.J. Simpson is innocent too? And I find it very interesting how he tried to settle the other cases as quietley as he could. May he rest in peace, but stop trying to idolize him and make him look like a saint.

>> No way can you say that his pedophilia is patently false, especially after all those numerous allegations.
Oh, I see. So if someone makes enough allegations, whatever they're alleging is suddenly true. Great logic there, buddy.
I'm not going to say one way or the other, because we'll never know, quite frankly. He had quite a few problems but I think it's pointless trying to destroy the man based on that. Why not celebrate the impact he had on culture and much of the world?
I do not idolize the man, but I can appreciate an important figure's contribution to modern history.

wow. The kid who's FAMILY accused MJ of molestation stated the other day that his family put him up to it just to get money and that he was never molested. Then everyone jumped on the bandwagon to try to get money.

Fine, phooky, prove that you aren't a pedophile.
