MotoGP: Downtown Monterey becomes motorcycle heaven
With the MotoGP this weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, motorcyclists from all around the country have converged on the Monterey peninsula to attend the event. To welcome the two-wheeled visitors, the city shuts down the main strip of Cannery Row in downtown Monterey the night before the race for one huge motorcycle party. It seems both the community and visitors have fully embraced the tradition, and the streets are packed with owners and spectators admiring the machinery on display. The range of bikes is very diverse, running the gamut from Harleys to Ducatis to custom choppers. Check out our favorites in the high-res gallery below.

LOL
............anyway....aside from that one oversight, I always love your guys pics. They're always top notch and look stunning no matter what you seem to shoot. Great stuff.

Great pictures Drew. Some really rare and unusual bikes there.
The oddest one is that blue and white bike who's chassis is a copy of a Bimota Tesi. I've never seen that before.
I just wish I could get more than 100 miles on a tank with my Hypermotard. Makes road trips rather difficult.

The "weird" bike in Pic 9 is a Vyrus, it is based on the Bimota Tesi (3D I believe) and it was in the major rags I believe last year, though it might have been the year before...

Awesome pics...One of these days I will get to go. Hopefully they still have this stop next year. And with any luck Kawasaki will be back in a more official capacity.

Thank God I don't have the money to buy that bike.... I'd probably be scrapped off the road.

Local here.
Another race event comes & goes. This one seemed quieter & less crowded than past GPs, I heard that motels had vacancies as of Thursday.
It's always neat to see so many cool wheels on race weekends. Also cool is the downtown-to-Cannery Row tunnel - where 'cyclists downshift and open up the throttle to hear the engines fill the tube with noise.
