China's Tong Jian S11 hybrid sports car attempts to channel inner Audi, Ferrari

Somehow, we managed to miss China's first-ever hybrid sports car at the Shanghai Motor Show earlier this year. Known as the S11 from Tong Jian – which incidentally also seems to be the name of a popular Chinese figure skater – this hybrid sports car looks production ready. Details on the coupe's powertrain are extremely scarce, but China Car Times reports that all four wheels are powered in some manner, presumably through a combination of electric motors and internal combustion.
It's obvious that the S11's designers have looked to the Audi R8 and any number of recent Ferraris for design inspiration, both inside and out. As far as we can tell, the resulting mashup isn't all that bad – minus the one-size-too-small alloys and those awkward Audi-esque blades on either side.If CCT's sources are correct, design work on the Tong Jian S11 has been completed and the hybrid sports car is headed for production at an unknown plant in Changchun city in short order.

as long as they can bring it here cheap, I don't mind.

Their buildings fall over before completion on their own accord, and have you seen any of their RECENT crash test videos? It's terrifying.
No thanks, I will stick with the expensive stuff over here

meh, you get what you pay for

Of course they can bring it here cheap - the cut design and development costs by stealing intellectual property from real companies.
Just to be clear, you don't mind that this company steals intellectual property? Nice. Stay classy Mehdi.

No I don't mind. I don't care much for intellectual property, or copyrights or trademarks.
Protzenegger 4:29PM (6/29/2009)
You will when it's yours that's being stolen.

God please no. Looks like a F430 with syphilis.

I think we all now know how World War 3 is going to start.

That car may have sounded better on paper but it looks ugly to me.

They can't NOT rip off styling in China, can they?

Well this looks a good deal better than the Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon, which was such an obvious Ferrari 456 pastiche it was almost embarassing to look at. The first-generation RX-7 smacked of Porsche and Lotus within its lines.
Prestige supercar marques have ALWAYS inspired the styling of others.

I see what you're saying but it still seems as though the Chinese are the most obvious about it.
Protzenegger 2:24PM (6/29/2009)
Bloke - throw in the 2nd-gen RX-7 as well. It reminds me a bit of what a Porsche 928 would look like if it were designed in Japan.

ryan - Please brush up on your grammar a bit and try not to use a double negative next time around. =/
ryan 3:32PM (6/29/2009)
Uh, it was intentional.
ryan 3:33PM (6/29/2009)
Aside from my intentional use of a double negative, whats the beef with my grammar? Or are you just trying to seem intelligent? :*(
Matt 9:56AM (6/30/2009)
In2uition:
Double negatives are an issue when they contradict their own meaning. As a rhetorical technique, Ryan's was entirely necessary to convey the meaning of the sentence.
If you're going to be a smart ass, please know what you're talking about. Your name, which reads "intoo-oo-ition," by the way, seems to indicate you don't.
JM 12:11PM (6/30/2009)
Well, they sure can't NOT not rip off styling, that's for sure
timwang2006 1:17PM (6/29/2009)
I'd say thats an improvement in styling over Ferrari's of late. Lets face it, the the F430 and California aren't exactly the prettiest cars on the road.
